Forums - Gaming - Why is it, that Street Fighter IV has not gotten the attention it should?

.. if it gets all the recognition due.. namely 90+ metacritic ratings.. it will

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Perhaps because it appeals almost exclusively to established Street Fighter fans?

I really don't see this game capturing the imagination of the average PS360 owner, which isn't to say that it won't sell well, or won't be a good game, but it's not going to cause an uproar simply because it's appeal rests on the fact that it is Street Fighter, which, again, isn't saying it's a bad game. It's kinda like Fire Emblem, except that Street Fighter once had much more clout than Fire Emblem could ever hope to have

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

yea looking at VF5, SC4,DOA4 sales I think fighting games are on the decline.. which is sad.. coz i enjoy those a lot. SF4 should put the spotlight back on the classic series though.. I havent got a chance to play the arcade yet .. and as long as this isnt SF EX rehashed im all for it!

Because Street Fighter IV is bringing about a great amount of nostalgia to the fans, and all the rest of us go "What is the big deal?"

It is an old franchise, Frankly nothing got better after SF2 special edition.

Having said that though i love SF and im psyched for SF4

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

it's getting alot of attention from me and all my friends at least...

but it's probably because me and my friends grew up around the time where sf2 was so popular that other arcade games weren't being played unless it was to waste time while waiting in line to play the winner...and not many people are old enough to remember sf2 like we used to....and the people who are old enough alot of us have strayed away from games and went on to their married life, work, or watever else it might be...

the younger generation aren't into fighting genre as much either...more into the fps or mmorpg genre...so that doesn't help either...

Because Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix already came out for less than half the cost, and that is one of the best Street Fighter games ever.

EDIT: also, I forgot to mention that the characters in SFIV looks ugly

well!! why??

Lack of attention by whom?  The game is multiplatform, and is a fighting game, and everyone knows it.  It isn't in a niche that has a lot of competition now either.  It is just there, and people expect it to probably do real well, or they are waiting on it.  Not sure what can be said about it.

If you are saying lack of attention in contrast to Killzone 2, well Killzone 2 happens to be a title that a site like this is pinning the future of the Playstation 3 on, and people arguing the graphics are better than Crysis, or it will sell a lot.  It is an exclusive title to the Playstation 3.

Outside of forums like this, I would say that Street Fighter IV is likely recognized and awaited by more people than Killzone 2 or other games that get focus on here.

Is Turbo remix any good.

I really like it. It is hard too. I used to be able to beat Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyperfighting on the hardest dificulty back on the SNES when I was much younger. I can beat SSFIITurbo:HDRemix on normal and that is it. They made some changes to balance out the characters which I think worked really well, but if you want to go back to the old style, it is still there.

The online is decent. I'm yet to play someone else other than random people. The lag isn't bad, and it depends on the match, but overall it works.

Overall, I like it just as much as SFIITurbo:Hyperfiting, and it is well worth the $15.
