Thats what I am saying... I dont understand why people want to kill the guy for saying somethin so... well... weak.

Because some people are... what's the word... touchy? sensitive?

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

@kowenicki

The HD userbase will only increase by 20 Million this year??

with 360's new price point & the possibility of FF13 in Japan + a possible PS3 price drop

Ps360 should sell 25 Million combined this year easily

Ps360 userbase will be WELL PAST 70 illion by the end of this year

and by the end of the gen it may be past 100 Million

giving devs a 100 Million + "platform" to develop for

PS360 as a platform are here to say....one is incomplete without the other for majority of developers

@kowenicki

that later on sales clawing back thing....dunno

360 is at mass price point

if PS3 can pick up like 360 did when it reaches there then yes (which it should theoretically)

if not then they won't

for the moment though its obvious the Wii won't be getting 50% marketshare anytime soon

While we may see some small games (like Two Worlds) that start on the PC as 360 exclusive, by and large, this won't happen. Microsoft will get virtually no benefits from their position. The 360 cannot survive on its own, just as the PS3 can't, either. The combined "PS3/360" platform still has some claim to financial relevance. The 360 platform alone mostly cannot. If you think shareholders are discontent now -- with all the layoffs, studio dissolutions and lost money -- just imagine if companies began to do 360 exclusives, when there is a system that sells significantly more software and more hardware and costs significantly less to develop for.

 Can't find any of the links, Ive read it, but it's generally accepted as true in the gaming press and the developers / publishers reps I've spoken to in my job have given me a similiar figure.

 I'll keep hunting for a link though - it was definitely touched on by the Assassin's Creed developer, and in a Devil May Cry interview too, I think.

What pisses me off the most about Greenberg is he keeps saying "At the beginning of 2008, it was a close race in Europe.....NOW SONY WILL LOSE 3RD PARTY SUPPORT!!!"

Did he forget that the PS3 launched a year and a half after the 360...and at a ridiculous price in Europe......and yet it was a "close race" by the time 2008 rolled around. That speaks more positively about Sony, and at the same time, more negatively about M$. The only reason there's a "one million unit lead" is because the machine costs what? 100 quid, euros, w/e?

@soriku

maybe.....but with all the "50% by the end of the year threads we had round mid last year" to those expectations it didn't do

thats because of the 360 price cut effects though.

Well, a lot of gamers who are Sega fans feel the same way about sony, i hate the way sony do business, they wait until somthing is successful and then jump on the bandwagon.

Just like MS will never get a cent of your money, Sony will never get a penny of mine.

What? What bandwagon did Sony hop on? Starting disc based games? And what was "successful" for Sony jump on anyway? The only competition, really, when the PS1 launched was Nintendo....and the 64 killed itsself. And the only thing that was really successful on that was those staple first party titles (Mario, Zelda, Smash)....games which couldn't be "stolen". If you're one of those people that swear Sony is so bad because of what happened with FFVII....remember that Squaresoft didn't want it on the 64 because it was cartridge based, meaning FMVs, FULL audio (not little midi files) etc. would have to me nixed. Color me confused.

But a rephrase:

Well, a lot of gamers who are M$ fans feel the same way about sony, i hate the way M$ do business, they wait until somthing is successful and then jump on the bandwagon. (ie GTA, DMC, FF)
