Forums - Gaming - My story why I chose XBox 360 over PS3

Well, I have both but I like and use the PS3 a lot more. It may have less games overall but it somehow has more that interest me.

This.  360 has always seemed to be "Halo this, Gears that."  My friends have put more hours on my 360 on Gears and Halo than I ever have.

I got a 360 for jRPGs.  Besides that, my PS3 and PC cover all the other games I want.  As Pristine said, when both systems came out - 360 had Halo and hardware problems, PS3 had Final Fantasy and Blu-ray.  It was an easy choice.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Did yours come with a time portal?

This story reminds me of when I bought my 360. I was a huge sony fan, since PS1 so I was waiting for the PS3. But when I saw how great DOA 4 looked I bought a 360 with the intention of trading it in once the PS3 came out. Still have the 360 and no PS3...

I use to be a fan of both., After the third time the 360 got the ring of death I vowed never again to buy the system. I have owned many systems since the NES days and never had problems until the 360. The 360 has some great games and filled much fo my free time with joy but I couldn't stand the breaking down all of the time. Plus when my career really took off I lost a lot of time to play games. The PS3 fits in perfect with one major game a month coming out and giving the blu ray is even better. Plus the free online is great. To tell you the truth I think it is about the same scale fo 360. People complain its not as good. I think their reasoning is that everyone they know owns a 360 and they dont have to make friends. I have made a sh*t ton on the ps3 and never have a problem joining games. cheers, just my input.

I bought the PS3 because of the cheaper price and better selection of games. I was interested in the PS3 for the Blu-Ray factor but decided I'd rather have a stand alone player anyway. The PS3 just isn't worth $400. Also, Target had a great deal going on where I got a free $60 gift card for buying the Pro Model.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Halo 3 - end of story

Yeah.  Same here.  I played my SNES for 8 years at least 2-3 hours each day.  I finally had to get a mainboard switched out because it was displaying strange colors.  My PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, Gamecube, N64 all worked like a charm for me.  Xbox 360 had some issues with the drive and had to return it to MS.

I chose ps3 over the 360 because of the greatness of the ps2.

I then chose the 360 over the ps3 because of the cheapness of the 360

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
