Forums - Gaming - tales of vesperia has been discontinued.

All JRPG lovers must get this game now. Also I hope that it get to Europe since they are really getting screwed over with Tales games...

You guys know I know my shit. This is one of the best games on the 360. Get it. It'll be worth money someday, and priceless to you as a gamer. I sold my copy dumbassedly(after a 120 hour single playthrough), and regret that decision already.

OFT. OFT ten fold. This game deserved well over a million sales. I don't understandwhy it didn't sell?....TLR and Infinite Undiscovery sold well, and they aren't even near as good as Vesperia.

They sold better because they are published by SE, that is it. Maybe the art style turned of some people, but the real reason must be SE

 This game industry isn't fair; and I doubt reviews helped much. IGN thinks Eternal Sonata is better then Vesperia. Whatever they're smoking, I don't want any. Maybe Namco will just let SE publish it from now on. Yeah, I know its not gonna happen.

I still think its BS. I haven't seen many copies, but I doubt they are discontinuing it.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

It probably didn't sell so well because it's a JRPG with a cartoony artstyle on the 360, who's userbase eats up games like Gears of War.

They only JRPG that has sold decently on the 360 is Lost Odyssey, which had a much more serious artstyle.

@shadowblind

it's Namco's own fault

the game could've got a strong Japanese BASE sales if it was a multiplat same day release

look at WKC....

PS3 would've made up for lack of 360 in japan

while 360 may have helped in Western sales

I don't understand why most JRPG devs don't do this. Whats it with Japanese games and exclusivity these days?

Too bad. It's the best Tales game by far. Look out for my review on the site this weekend btw.

@shadowblind

dunno but with today's famitsu sales out WKC has crossed 300K in Japan ALONE

tales is a ESTABLISHED franchise......WKC did in one region what tales still hasn't done in all its regions put together

imagine if it was on PS3....imagine the sales in Japan of the "first" JRPG on it....also it being an established franchise helps too

That's...weird.

I don't see Namco having any reason to discontinuing it, and also they haven't even released it in Europe yet. Surely they could get some more sells out of that.

I think they should at least port it to ps3 too, those will get more sells, especially in Japan.

I think we all know why big JRPGs are being released exclusively on the 360 so often.  Though some people like to deny it.

Why they're not bothering to port the game after said reasons have expired, however, I'm not sure.  Maybe with the meager sales of Tales of Vesperia on the 360 combined wtih the meager sales of Eternal Sonata on ps3, they don't think it's worth making a port.
