Forums - Nintendo - Rumourtroid: NoA 'pretty bummed' that Kid Icarus wasnt ready for 2008

but... (assuming any of this is true)

Would Nintendo bail out Factor 5 after being so disappointed with them. If this is true and Kid Icarus was pulled, Nintendo might not have suffered the overwhelmingly negative reaction to their E3 presentation. I'm pretty sure Nintendo would have cut ties with Factor 5 for failing to deliver.

So why arn't any of Factor 5's fired employees talking right now?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

^because ey dont wanbesued for breaking the NDA...

and ha yea like if the game was so close to completion that it could be out for christmas that Nintendo would just be like "oh Factor 5 is in tourble, well sucks for them"

sometimes I wonder who is dumb enough to believe these rumors enough to post it online at all. If I heard someone say it, even Reggie I would laugh thinking wow good joke reggie

After Lair, maybe we should be thankful Factor 5 didn't release this.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

Here's a better question:

Why hasn't Factor 5 issued a "No, everything is fine. We're not shutting down" press release?

Kid Icarus as Nintendo's answer to God of War?

Good question WoW. Kid Icarus aside, if nothing else Nintendo should pick up Factor 5 purely for their technical ability. F5 could make software tools and a game engine that actually makes use of the Wii hardware. The technical demo of the Wii's version of the Lair engine was impressive. Nintendo could license out that game engine to third parties to make back the money from their investment.
