Forums - Gaming - MP3 vs Bioshock: reviews

Sorry on the double post

Around the Network

Bioshock's now upto an average of 98.9 from 8 reviews.

Barring some insane circumstance, the minimum the game will recieve is an average 95%.

Lets hope that more reviews start popping up for both MP3 and Bioshock - I want to give Game_Boy a new Avatar. :)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Is there a review for MP3? Couldn't find any (only previews).

As far as i know the following things are true.

MP3 is next in line for the prime trilogy.

Bioshock is the game that comes after System shock 2.

Both have a history of being a great story, and gameplay experience.

The big thing all you guys are overlooking is the fact that Bioshock is Irrational games huge title and is the only title they will have made since there take over by Take-2. This is there game they have nothing else even mentioned in several articals. This game pretty much carries they hype and hope of a fanbase of system shock 2 which is about Deus-X quality of game. This is all they got, there is nothing else this copmany even has in the works that I can even hear about, let alone dig up. The saying all your egg's in one basket comes to mind.

Nintendo who has been making metroid since the NES days has ALWAYS! been a back seat title to Mario and Zelda, hard to except but its true. Does Metroid carry the same quality hype that System shock will make for Bioshock. No it doesnt. Fans of Metroid Prime are not fans of Top of the line anything, all they have wanted was there metroid not to suck. In fact I recall wondering if there was ever going to be another metroid after the SNES came out, as I never heard about the Gameboy metorid. Hell Super metorid probaly the Best 2d anything ever created it doesnt matter what i compare it to it trumps it in any way possible! Wait though... When did this game come out? Late years SNES, when did Loz:Lttp come out?

The only thing you have to ask your self is. " Is just metorid really a fare comparison? " Nintendo doesnt just make Metroid they make 3 other very large remarkable title that no one else has anything to fight back aganst with.

Metorid may not beat Bioshock in a one on one, but does the PC really have the games to beat Mario Zelda Metroid and smash brothers?

It doesnt, this is the reason my PC get played very little, along with the current state of my Wii. The only difference is it looks like the Wii has a future of something aside from Console/PC games..

It is

Metroid < Bioshock

but in the end, even with this PoS E6600 and 8600GT.

Nintendo > Whatever else is out there.

I'm getting both, and will be happy with both.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Well I for one hope that both are instant classics [well Bioshock already is so... Corruption, it's up to you!] lol. The more the merrier right?

IGN - 9.5

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

Sites consistently rate Wii games lower because most aren't very good at this point. That's not a "bias", that is flat-out reality. TP was a wonderful game and Super Paper Mario was also great. Other than that, what "great" games has the Wii seen? Red Steel? Mario Party 8? Godfather? The list goes on...

I'm not bashing the Wii, I think it's a great system. But for the same reason that I walk away from my recent PS3 purchase with a "meh" feeling, it hasn't delivered great games. It doesn't mean that great games aren't coming and that ultimately the system won't be a jewel of gaming, it just means that right now, it hasn't really delivered on its promises. And frankly, I'm tired of hearing Nintendo fans defend this position. Those of us who bought an N64 felt this same thing for months after release. The same happened for the GC.

In short, the great games will come. Stop talking about how "your" system was shafted in the ratings or how you feel cheated because it doesn't get as much press love as it should. The press is generally unbiased and plays all games and if anything, the recent Wii success would give them better ratings, not worse. Blame the developers for putting out shit games, not the press.

Agreed. When Excite Truck is considered one of the best games on a console, you can infer some things about the rest of the selection...

Just curious, what do you have against Excite Truck?  Except for being short (which isn't that bad considering there are three difficulties and 5 *I think* grades for each), it's actually a really good game (I still play it).  If they made a sequel with a few more courses and possibly online I would be all over that game.

FINALLY!!! The Sony Defense Force review of Bioshock is up!!!

5/10

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Okay, so i just read two pages on this thread, and saw little to no comments about the controls of Bioshock from the people who have played it, I have read that it lacks multiplayer, has grainy textures up close, and has an amazing story and atmosphere.. how does that add up to a 10?

I obviously haven't played it, but can someone explain that to me?

And LOL at the sony review

"To conclude, let this game cook in the oven just a little bit longer and wait for the superior PS3 version. Cleaned up textures, animations, AI, extra weapons, Home space, standard HDD and Blu-ray will make this flawed game into a perfect gem."

That made me laugh
