Forums - Nintendo - ToS: DotNW WON'T be released in Europe (German source)

compared to Tales of Vesperia (that got great reviews) the game is selling more than well!
worths noting that most Wii games sell slow but for a long time, i mean it's not all about launch

did 12k this week in America, not bad at all, it will reach more than 0.5 million without Europe

i think i should make a "Tales of" fanclub with Soriku : P

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Guess they don't like money. Well, no biggie really, the game supposedly sucks.

I'd be dissapointed if the next Tales doesn't make it to Europe though.

The game is awesome, reviewers are losers. I bet they didn't even get too far before they rated it (honestly reviewers need to play games the WHOLE WAY THROUGH before rating them >_>)

@outlaw

How do you know Vesperia is being brought over by SE?

Also, I doubt ToS: DotNW is overtracked. Maybe that guy didn't know the difference between major RPGs/Tales series sales.

I know I saw it somewhere. I'll check the internet.

I hope I didn't confuse Tales with Eternal Sonata though.

I think you did. SE is bringing persona 4 in PAL, and iirc Atari is bringing ps3 Eternal Sonata. I haven't seen any annoucment or even gossip about anyone releasing ToV in here.

One question, If you import the game, wouldn't you need a modded Wii because Wiis are region locked? Man that must suck for you guys, but at the same time, it doesn't make any sense because the first TOS was released in the EUR but the sequel won't be? wtf Namco. Ah well I guess that's how it goes

Installing the Wii Homebrew channel (the post just above yours) basically makes the Wii region free (once you install Gecko OS on this channel).

For that, you need a Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess game though, and a SD card.

I wouldn't take the risk to mod my Wii, given the console's features.

I thought Ubisoft were bringing over Tales titles, or was that just Tales of Eternia (PSP)? Either way I'd be dissapointed if ToS: Dawn of the New World skipped Europe, the original was one of the best GameCube titles and I'd like to see how things turn out.

The game is really good.... The reason most often given is that the protagonist is kind of a spineless whiner in the first part of the game but most reviewers must have not made it past chapter 3 because he changes quite a bit.. the story is really good..

Add that to the fact that the Wii doesn't really have any RPGs (except Fire Emblem) and Europe is really missing out.

Emil is spineless for just about the entire game. By the time he grows a backbone its time for the final confrontation with Richter.

Other than that, the game is fine. I had a lot of fun the battle system and it was good to see everyone from the original.

I have read that the game won't get a release in the FIRST semester of 2009.

yeah, that is most likely

Namco releases all of their successful games in Europe (maybe themselves or through Atari or Ubisoft or SE, but up to 1 year later than other regions, which sucks for sure

people will forget that the game exists and the launch will be bad..... :  (

If you look at the German source, you'll see that there isn't written that the game just won't be released in the first semester. It's written that there are no plans. The English source says something different.
