Forums - Nintendo - ToS: DotNW WON'T be released in Europe (German source)

actually there's still hope

maybe another company will release it, or Namco/Atari will do after 1 year or something....they released SoulCalibur Legends about 9 months later than the USA....

it's selling great in America, heading to 0.5 million and if Europe launch was good it could reach 1 million after some years.... (maybe)

You've got to be kidding. I've been waiting for this game for ages! Why the hell do they keep giving us Europeans and Australians the shaft? Especially Australians, though :x

Because your governments set up laws which make it very, very, very complicated to bring over games. Don't blame Atari, blame the EU.

Learn to import an NTSC console, kids. Or at least chip yours to read all regions.

The PAL region is inferior to NTSC when it comes to games released in it, ToS's case shouldn't be a surprise to you.

The sad part is that the more people who import games rather than buying their local copies are actaully the ones killing off their own local market by not supporting it.

I only import what's not released in Europe or is very hard to find there, mon ami. (I'm talking PS1/2 games, I have both NTSC and PAL consoles).

Respect +1.

Every game released in Europe gets PAL conversion (what is this nonsense? What is PAL conversion?), multiple language requirements, PEGI approval, taxes, ...
Games that sold poorer than that have got an european release.

Anyway, the japanese version seems better but more expensive, while they added features to the NA version and it's cheaper, but has the crappy voices...

WHAT?
So now, which one do I import? English or japanese version?
Tough choice.

Depends on whether or not you can stomach Emil's English VA.

Seriously, VA is the least of Emil's problems. They should have named him Emo Apolognier instead of Emil Castagnier.

What? Which lame excuse is that?

The sole law I see making it complicated to bring over games is that they should at least have their manual in the native language of the country. Which seems valid and not even enough to me.

What are those laws? Given all the games that come in Europe, I'll blame Atari or Namdai and not the EU thank you very much.

Jeez, that's totally retarded.
If true I'll have to mod my Wii, which I rather not do.

And I thought Nintendo was publishing this...with Atari I have less hope. Does Vesperia suffer the same fate?

I really don't understand it. It would be the first JRPG on the frigging console, it will obviously sell decent, more than enough to make a small profit.

I keep forgetting that you aren't in the North America, BengaBenga. It is really pathetic if the game doesn't see a Euro release. ToS2 would certainly make a profit since it would be the first JRPG released for the Wii. Not only that, its a sequel to ToS which did very well on Gamecube. I don't see the logic behind not releasing it. You'd think publishers would be clamoring to release a new Wii title, especially after the holiday sales it saw.

I will be SO SO SO angry if they don't release it, seriously. Please, I don't want to mod my Wii -______-.

they are just killing the game!
it would have the chance to reach 1 million if it was released in Europe or at least close.... : (

but Namco is stupid, they say they have no plans, but most of the times they mean at that time, they'll have plans after 6 months or something

when they were asked if Yoda will be dlc on Ps3 in SC IV they said "we have no plans for that" and they did it after some 3 months, they are stupid

thanks god there's free loader and that application that can launch NTSC games.....
