So far none of the jRPG released on PS3 or X360 wasn't able to reach Platinum seller status with 1 milion copies sold.

Do you think White Knight or Star Ocean 4 have serious chance of reaching that ?

Star Ocean has already proved IP and will have advantage of starting earlier worldwide but probably won't be able to sell 1M in initial months giving chance to second contender

White Knight Chronicles has already sold 300k in Japan and by the time it's US and PAL versions are released will be certainly at 350k levels and more probably 400k+ and while it's new IP it will debut on platform without any competition (Sonata or X-Edge certainly aren't titles of this caliber).

Or maybe both will fail in west and 1M sales will have to wait for FF XIII which will do it in Japan?

Personally I think WKC will get bigger lifetime sales and SO4 can only win by having front loaded sales so my bet is on WKC.

hmm.. Star Ocean 4 probably has the better chance to sell 1 million and to do it faster, for it's US release is just days after the japanese release (and Eu release certainly won't be a long wait either, although I didn't find a date for that)

and as you mentioned the IP has proven to be able to sell more than 1 million even without the exclusivity hype it's getting this time

SO 4 just because it'll get there faster due to faster WW release. I think both have a very good shot at a million.

WKC will not reach 1 million worldwide I believe, 800k is my prediction. Star Ocean 4, however, I believe will surpass 1 million a few weeks after its release in EU.

Star Ocean 4 first to sell 1 million as I think it releases in all territories first. WKC first to reach 2 million.

White Knight Chronicles FTW

Star Ocean Barley made it over the 1M mark with the PS2 what makes you think that SO4 will sell a over a Mil on the System which the majority of JRPGs do Valkyria Chronicles numbers.

WKC is the PS3's first JRPG(very Very sad it should be our 5th or 6th thanks M$) and its doing extremely well outselling all JRPGs on the 360 in japan and most of them Worldwide SO4 wont be any different Quote me fools

None arel likely to sell 1 Million.

Lost Odyssey is at 870k I think its still a contender, its more about how much of a drop off the other two games will get for this to stand a chance though.

WKC has done well in Japan, its at 300k but I expect (as with the large majority of games in Japan) for it to completly drop off, its at 20k on its 3rd week, so in 6 - 10 weeks it could be sub 5k

SO4 has the benefit of launching almost simultaniously in each region, if it can do 150k - 200k in Japan, it only has to do 200k more than WKC is NA and EU, and although people like to say userbase don't count for JRPG in NA and EU (wtf?) I think the 360's massive lead in NA will help it sell more.

In the end though I don't think SO4 or WKC will reach a million ... but LO will.
