How does Keftka have more character, of all the FF Villains he's perhaps the most disconnected from any of the main characters, he just the guy that happens to be in position to take over the empire they're trying to overthrow. There's no twist, no angle, no catch. He's just evil and insane.

Sephiroth, was once the main character's childhood hero and reason for him to taking the path he took as a soldier. Sephiroth is the catalyst for everything. Sephiroth isn't just evil either, he goes from neutral and loyal to insane and hell bent because of specific events, he has depth and evolves as a character over the story that is told. Kefka was always insane and just becomes more powerful, how much more cookie cutter does it get than that. If killing Aeris is what you believe is his claim to fame then I'd invite you to actually play the game. Sephiroth is not only the villain but the reason the main character is the main character and the sole reason the main character's life has taken the path it has. The unveiling of the truth behind Cloud and Sephiroth's past is monumental in showing the true scale of the villain's depth. Sephiroth is also the manifestation of other character's strife including Tifa and most significantly of all, Vincent. Sephiroth isn't just a villain, he is a symbol of Cloud's lost innocence and fallen ambitions, a symbol of Cloud's past and his own challenges to overcome in what he himself has become. He is in a sense Cloud's darker self, the hero's true antithesis. Kefka didn't even have any major connection to any of the main characters in six, he was just the villain, you could argue he was in charge of mind controlled Terra, but who the f*ck cares about Terra? Biggest Non-Main Character ever.

and this is why i find him a better villian and its only because he had a much more darker meaninful connection to the main character, sephiroth went insane after actually being a good guy. I still think the final push is the fact of more details about sephiroth, and the fact he killed aeris, one of the only gaming moments i have ever cried (almost heheh)

well you can say jenova is sephiroth, or sephiroth is jenova. You can say either is in control facts support both.
They put him in KH to haunt cloud, just like he always did in the game.

BTW there is a reason why sephiroth is the hardest boss in the game O.o

No KH sephiroth is the real sephiroth I think, wow this is very confusing, jnova was destroyed in FF VII.

yea its not jenovas body in KH its the regular sephiroth. Tech in FF7 jenova was destroyed when you beat the sephiroth clone, which was in fact jenovas body, which was controled by sephiroth so i still say it was  him the entire game

First off, nearly two pages worth of comments and we've left off some of the blatantly obvious.  Instead, we're focusing almost entirely on JRPG characters . . .   LAME

The most evil villian to appear in a video game is (well, I THOUGHT it was obvious)

DARTH VADER.

Followed closely by SAURON and HITLER.

We've also had COBRA COMMANDER, MEGATRON, and SKELETOR.  DRACULA, FRANKENSTEIN, THE MUMMY, and THE WOLFMAN.  MAGNETO, DOCTOR DOOM, and LEX LUTHOR.  (EDIT: I could be wrong on one or two of those, but I'm almost 100% sure that each of them have appeared in a video game in SOME form or another.)

Heck, even THE UNDERTAKER ranks higher on the badass-o-meter than whiny, confused, just needs a mother-who-will-love-him-for-who-he-is Sepiroth.
