Forums - Sony - I dont Know How but Square-Enix Did it(Crisis Core Spoilers)

I dont know how but Square-Enix actually made me care enough about Zack to actually feel some sadness when he was killed. This has only happened to me 3 times before where a developer made me care enough about a character that their death was actually able to get a stir of emotions out of me.(Aerith's death, Raiden being crushed by Outer Haven and Snake apparent suicide before the credits roll) It brings up the question of how did you feel to seeing Zack's untimely demise after going through his life and career during the gameplay of Crisis Core?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I know exactly what you mean, I was dissapointed that I had to play as Zack and not Cloud, but I changed my mind quickly after playing it for a few hours, but my god they did a good job. I grew very attach to him and in the end of the game I was fighting so hard not to start bawling, I knew it was gonna happen but not like that!

Poor Zack, he was just trying to help everyone

Really touching too. The water streaming down his face. Very moving. And as fun as the game was, the cut scenes were my favourite part. So well done.

"This is the deep-dish, delicious irony endured by the Nintendo stalwart: to see their platform of choice ascendant, even as their bright God turns his face away."

Tycho Brahe

Eh, I already saw him die in the original FFVII. His death was REEEEEAAALY drawn out though.

The next FFVII title better have Cloud as the main character.

Cutscenes were extremely well done and it has actually motivated me into purchasing all Square Games made available on the PSP. I just wished we saw the same type of quality in crisis core appear in Dirge of Cerberus. I hope Square thinks about making another chapter in the compilation or a new Final Fantasy title with the same Battle system. Its ranked as one of my favourites to appear in a RPG

I really emjoyed Crisis Core and feel it's a vastly underrated title.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
