I wasn't even arguing the comparison, Crysis is on PC, Killzone 2 is not.

well honestly it doesn't compare. Crysis has better physics than any game has dreamt of, it has open world gameplay, making the scale of the graphics amazing. It has huge draw distances, better textures, better AA and all at higher resolutions. Heck it even has better lighting on every object.

I think that's what alot of people forget. The sheer scope of Crysis. Even if KZ2 managed to get close in fidelity of it's character models, lighting, and textures (which it's not) it's going to be on a much much smaller scale than crysis's gigantic open world. KZ2 looks great on PS3, but it's tech just isn't in the same league. Even if comparing guns makes it seem so.

KZ2 also uses ray-tracing not even your powerful Crysis can do that.

And that article fails on so many levels its insane.

are you trying to imply kz2 is in any way superior to crysis?

Yes i am.  Killzone uses features that Crysis does not.  Real time ray-tracing is something Killzone2 does and Crysis does not.

The game does not use real time ray tracing.

They have some in cutscenes yes but even there they are cheating and its not real time.

In the latest interview which was just posted the other day on a dutch site, he says during this one part where he is showing something they are using real time ray-Tracing.

Crysis does win in visuals, but that does not detract from the fact that it is a shit game, unfortunately. Let's hope KZ2 won't be.

thats the end of conversation. When a custom map looks better than KZ2 stop comparing.

A 91/100 average is the very definition of shit.

I also have a 1080i TV...and not saying anyones wrong, but how do we know KZ2 doesn't run at 1080p?

Google some KZ2 box covers. Somebody had posted a scan of the GameStop preorder box cover here. Back of the box lists only 720p and 1080i as supported HD resolutions.

I would like to suggest the no video game box arts this gen have listed the resolution the game is rendered in, only the output resolutions supported by the console, so in that case I would think it very unlikely that the Killzone would not support 1080p, I just doubt it will be rendered at any of those resolutions.  My money is actually on a sub-720p resolution for finished product.

That's a bet you might not win.

They've stated in the dev tech interview that: "We're doing full 720p, with no shortcuts."

You can see that interview here.

This again. I don't give a shit what reviews say, I hated Crysis. F.E.A.R, Bioshock, GTA IV and CoD:WaW are the same story. On the flipside, I have enjoyed many average reviewed games far more than the above titles, how is this so goddamn hard to understand? Sometimes I think half the forum needs a brain transplant...

What he calls ray tracing there are actually bump maps.

So you were just treating your opinion as fact?  Ah ok.

Is that directed to me?
