Their next project will definetly not be one for the PS4, that's for sure. Sony will want to push them to make something even more impressive on the PS3 to show off the power the machine is packing.
Killzone 3? No idea, but it could be. Though it seems GG have their area of expertise in FPSs, so I think it is safe to say their next game will be a FPS.

EDIT: And of course they will be able to get more out of the PS3. You will never not be able to get more out of it, but at some point the differences become so small you barely notice them anyway. I have no idea how much better their next game will look, but I doubt it is going to be a big jump over Killzone 2.

I think if KZ2 becomes a big hit they will save KZ3 for a major PS4 launch title and they will make another shooter on PS3. If KZ2 gets mediocre sales/reviews I think we'll see KZ3 on PS3

This could e GG's first successful game ever so who knows. Let's just hope its better than Nam 67 or Killzone 1.

Killzone 3 would be a great launch title for PS4. But I think they could get it out later in the PS3's life.

This "we can get even more out of the PS3" in its different variants is getting very old. Notice that these statements are always coming from Sony affiliated developers.

It seems like Sony is desparate to explain why the mighty PS3 is consistently producing games that are just on par with the "XBox 1.5" at best.

I think we can add "we can get even more out of the PS3" together with "Wait until is released" to the Lexicon of Wishful Thinking.

Avoiding the obvious flamebait, I will say this:

Killzone 2 did infact not take 4 years to make (Killzone: Liberation was released october 31, 2006, meaning Killzone 2 wasn't under full development until after that), and since they now have an excellently working engine, if they were to make a completely new IP, I would say that the game would be out in the 1st half of 2011. If it is a new Killzone game (as in: assets are reusable), I think we will see it in the 2nd half of 2010.

I think they'd make there own style God of War like game somewhere down the line, that would be made of so much awesome sauce.

Why did they announce the game in 2005 if developement didn't even start until 2007?
