Forums - Nintendo - super punchout and ogre battle headed to virtual console

http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp

among the various ESRB ratings in the source above are some interesting titles that i dont think have been announced.  S&P2 is a project inspired by the sales of the first one on the virtual console. now nintendo is looking to build the userbase of its other franchise revival, punchout. with the wii game set for  Q2 release it would make sense for nintendo to release the old title on virtual console sometime at the end of Q1. perhaps nintendo is hoping this will be the next big bridge game after mario kart.  of course this is a much smaller frnachise and is unlikely to see mario karts massive sales.  however this game will benefit from its similarity to wii sports boxing and could become a multi million seller as long as it is not too over shadowed by wii sports resort. personally i think nintendo should have release punchout Q1 as thier big game and then release S&P2 in Q2  as core gamers will then probably pick up this game or conduit as well as wii sports resort

Another interesting discovery in ogre battle: the march of the black queen is coming from square enix. it is liekly that this will be for virtual console rather than a wiimake.  if it sells well then maybe a brand new wii game is a project that SE could be looking into although it may not be one of the '2-3 million sellers' they need

Well the  game had the time attack mode but the characters were not so great as in the original... King Hippo ftw!!!

o yeah and you could duck in SPO... so basicly they are the same game but in one you could duck and have timed matches and in the other you had better characters.. both are good.

Somewhat off-topic, but has there been any kind of multiplayer revealed for Punch-Out Wii? I know it's kind of been assumed, but...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
