Anything is possible with the wii.

At the rate the userbase is growing, it's practically implied.

Definitely possibly. Especially since it sold half that in less than a year and there's still demand for Mario Kart and the Wii.

I would have doubted it 5 months ago but now it's likely. MK Wii is looking to end 2009 with about 20 million in sales as long as nothing knocks it down which would make 25 million pretty easy.

It is possible, depending how the second year will be for it.

Yeah, I'd say it'll do more than that in it's lifetime.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

25m looks inevitable.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

If the game keeps the current attach rate of 30%, it would happen when the Wii userbase gets to ~83 million.

I think it will happen in 2010 which leaves some margin for error.

EDIT - fixed.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

i think it'll hit 30 million. about 21 million by the end of '09. about 25 million by end of '10. and another 5+ million after that in the last 2 or 3 years of this generation.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million
