If everyone pre-orders their copy then retailers will have to take notice

Yes, Sin City fans will eat it up if no one else.

You beat me to it. This game will have a MUCH BIGGER APPEAL than anybody here is giving it credit for, thanks to Sin City's popularity in the mainstream.

I can see this game hitting 1 million.

I don't know why more people don't think this, nearly everyone who watched the trailer has said something like "Holy crap its just like Sin City".

How'd that work for "The Spirit"?

Granted the Spirit sucked... but even if Madworld is good how will most people know?

1) How does any one know if a new title is good or not?

2) The trailers for The Spirit largely sucked, and lacked the over the top violence of Sin City.

I dunno even know how you would market MadWorld. The game is too violent for TV commercials IMO.

It's just one of those things where you roll the dice and see. I think it'll be a good game, but probably not a big hit.

It has "cult classic" written all over it.

I don't think I can argue with the idea that SEGA is lying about their intent to market Mad World. That's not really a very reasonable argument to put forth.

 I'm not saying they're lying.

But euqally, when SEGA say something like they'll market Mad World to the extent they feel is appropriate to make it a commercial success, what they mean and what some people on here think they mean, are two completely different extremes.

PR's spinning the truth? no?

Ah, granted, but I don't expect it to break a million or any other arbitrary number: the issue at hand was only if it would be marketed better than God Hand.

Was that the issue? I find it hard to keep it replying to seemingly numerous peoples arguments about whatever I say, or whatever.

I doubt it'll see much greater marketing then God Hand, more press coverage and hype on the forums and whatever, no doubt. It's up to SEGA to prove me wrong I guess, I can't seem them willing to invest money trying to sell Mad World though. Just my opinion, mind.

What exactly is your basis for this?

You're talking about one of Capcom's barely marketed titles versus one of Sega's biggest games of the year.  Do you honestly expect their marketing to be comparable?

Swoosh, the marketing wouldn't be difficult at all.  Have you seen any of the videos they've provided that censor the most violent parts with a "censored" banner?   That's perfect for TV and easily makes you want to see what they censored.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I think it'll depend on how well the game is received. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, so if it is a critical and fan knockout, it should have no problem hitting 1 million. I haven't been following it closely enough to say if this will be the case, but love the concept and I hope this game sees massive success.

Madworld will be huge.

Potentially. Awareness of the game is increasing steadily, and if it garners good reviews, it has a shot.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

MAD WORLD WILL BE HUGE!

JACK WILL BE NINTENDO'S NEXT MAIN MASCOT!

Oh course don't you dare try to bring me up on this when the game doesn't deliver the unreasonable expectations because I will throw SUCH a hissy fit.

Again, I'm saying it will easily blow past a million based on the assumption that it will be a good game. (and yes, just good, not necessarily amazing).

But everyone saying that it's too niche to sell. Style does not mean Niche. Once a game is stylized, it then matters what the style is. This game has a great and accessible style that will appeal to a lot of people.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Of course it will. I've never seen some pessimism about this game before. It should sell better than NMH. People need to be more excited about this game and much less excited about The Conduit.
