Forums - PC - How about updating some PC games sales?

I know VGChartz doesn't track PC games, retail or online. But it would be nice to have some PC games updated with the latest known sales figure on them (better than nothing).

Yeah, games like WoW are undertracked by a mil+ =p

hell, we could even use this thread as a place to put the sales figures we find, so it would be easier to update.

VGChartz could use the Valve sales numbers, but they don't include the Steam sales as far as I know...

Well not just for PC games, but for all without actual sales, shipment figures (with a date) should be used where avaliable

The only problem with PC games is there is so much digital distribution, so we have to get figures from the publishers which include how many sales have come from DD

yes, but it's better to have retail than nothing.

I agree, but we do need to make sure that it is properly indicated

I hope at least the bestsellers will be updated someday with LT sales reported by publishers/developers.

Too lazy to search more sales figures at the moment.

lol, WoW is more like undertracked by 10 million.

The numbers blizzard releases is just current active accounts, and a huge number of accounts are no long active anymore.  The actual number of accounts created (non-trial), which means they bought the game, is easily in the range of 15-25 million world wide.  For example, out of all of my friends that have played the game, I easily know 8 9 or 10 people who have quit playing the game at some point over the past few years, so they are no longer included in the WoW number of subscribers.

That is why the game has been such an accomplishment, many other MMOs actually drop in user base rather than continue to increase for as long as WoW has.
