This is has turned into a "he said, she said" (or rather, this site said, that site said)
I know a lot of you want LBP to "fail" though, so I understand why you're so adamant

Cause LBP is a lot of peoples pet favorites...
A lot of people wanted it to be a 5-8 million seller.
Finding out such a game sold much worse.... is disheartening.

@ kasz: and the other way around of course :) It's not like this site only harbours LBP-lovers ;)
but if many games suffer from this, then we're in for quite a ride the coming weeks :p

Yes... cause when 1 site says one thing...
and all the rest say another...
clearly the site on it's own... is the correct one.
Clearly.

Not really. Most people don't make a huge deal about it...
Usually people just go "oh, ok we were off"
and move on... the sites get adjusted...
it isn't mentioned much... no big deal.
Also, usually games turn out to be undertracked more then they turn out to be overtracked.
Every once in a while... games like this tend to be undertracked though... forum favorites.
It makes me think Ioi's data source may slightly skew to the hardcore consumer. Wii software often seemed undertracked for a while too etc.

There have always been discrepancies. It's not going to be different from any other month.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we quoted Engadget and IGN saying one thing, and three other sources saying another. That's hardly 1 site versus everyone else.

This is often based on expectations. The expectations for MGS 4 were higher, so it was over tracked, for example. The expectations for LBP were much higher than the sales (tracked or actual, apparently) so LPB is another one likely overtracked.
Undertracked games include those without much hype that sell steadily and not too quickly. LPB was a very high hype title -- I saw more hype for it than, for example, Super Mario Galaxy.
He must not be counting the bundles games, VG Chartz can't be off by that much.
If it's true what Kaz said then that means that LittleBigPlanet SHIPPED 1.3 million to retailers, so there probably would be about a little over a million sold to consumers, that would mean VG Chartz is off by about 700K!
according to vgchartz nope...you lost it
according to Kaz yes..you won it
i think u need to settle this with another bet.......killzone 2 ?? anybody ???
