Forums - Nintendo - Can motion controls work for action RPG games on the Wii?

From all accounts, Sould Calibur Legends stems this fear the most (although as a fighting game, it would have solved that), but considering the way that system was criticized, it's unlikely to be used for such a game again.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Uhh..... Monster Hunter 3 counts, right?

Hooooooo.

You're gonna have to go into greater detail as to what that would entail. I haven't played Okami so that comparison don't help me much, but I have played Twilight Princess and generally wasn't bothered by that during my long, long, long play sessions.

Well think of it as basically the same as Twilight Princess.

Now that I think of it, my arms did ache a bit while frantically pumping and moving my arms in M&S, but that wouldn't really be the same case of a fighting game.

bdbdbd, whether intentional or not, just reminded me of something. I think I realize why my arms and wrists in particular are used to the work-outs. That was a half-depressing realization there. :P

EDIT: Is Monster Hunter 3 using motion control for fighting? If so, sweet!!

Any games that work well with a mouse will certainly work well with a Wiimote. There are alot of creative ways to do things with motion controls. This subject is kind of humorous.

This. The motion controls for TP were great. I didn't get tired using those controls and the sword was only able to be used with waggle. I think KH would be fine.

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

Ive gotta admit at first I got pain from playing TP.

After I played so much and different Wii games though it left. But Bleach:Shattered Blade brought it back.
Has anyone played it? All the shit is waggle at the speed of light left or right

OT:I think if you get the right developer than yes. SE not good developor all comabt KH no. Someone from Platinum Games might be able to do it.

I'll look forward for the next Tales game to incorprate that fighting style. A TP style viewing angle is necessary.

I really hated the waggle in TP. Not because it was tiring or anything... more like annoying and unresponsive, but it was a launch title I guess.

Motion Plus would help of course.

Why not have an attack button and use ir cursor to select targets. Just because waggle is an option doesn't make it the best or most intuitive one.
