Maybe DS supply's sending to Asia to prepare for a Chinese new year?

@ DS numbers. It's supply constrained presumably, also, the holiday bundles (NSMB or Brain Training) stopped after Christmas I would assume?

Woah XBOX360 outsold Nintendo DS, thats shocking to me. Did anyine announce supply issues? I guess they did just sell 2 million last week, so that would cause supply strains I'd imagine.

Ouch DS. My guess is that the DS is supply constrained. At least PSP fans can say that the first week of 09, PSP outsold the DS. Anyway, Dropoff has been pretty nasty all round. Cool to see 360 and Wii with 6 digits.

When i bought GH:WT last saturday at GS... My brother was with me, he was going to buy a DS with some giftcards and such. Well, they were sold out, so was best buy, so was walmart. Those are the only stores I have been to in the last week.

Something tells me that the DS demand was even higher than expected for N so they must have "hurried" the supply chain this causing a gulf in availibility this week.

When are people going to stop assuming that Demand falls over night... the market does not work like that, there would have to be some major outside influence (like PSP dropping its price to 99 dollars or a report that DSes give kids brain cancer)

DS is the new Wii?

From what I understand, at least in my area. DS has been selling out since it first hit shelves years ago. I bought mine, like first week, and those things have been sold out ever since, I've not seen 'em in stock for years.

Well, that's definitely one way to start off the new year.

Interesting indeed, let's see how DS can rebound next week. Great sales for Wii and 360, and good sales for the PS systems as well.

Hmm... yea, a quick scan indicates that there is a supply issue. Amazon is sold out of more than half the colors it lists (with some not even giving an option to backorder), GameStop.com is ONLY shipping the Onyx color right now, and the closest store to me with one in any color is over 24 miles away. Local Best Buys are completely wiped out, except for the local one having a few of the Guitar Hero sets.
