When i bought GH:WT last saturday at GS... My brother was with me, he was going to buy a DS with some giftcards and such. Well, they were sold out, so was best buy, so was walmart. Those are the only stores I have been to in the last week.
Something tells me that the DS demand was even higher than expected for N so they must have "hurried" the supply chain this causing a gulf in availibility this week.
When are people going to stop assuming that Demand falls over night... the market does not work like that, there would have to be some major outside influence (like PSP dropping its price to 99 dollars or a report that DSes give kids brain cancer)
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
