It will be interesting to see when the game comes out how much was the player being crap and how much was the controls. Most reviews I've read so far comparing KZ2 to other FPS say that KZ2 doesn't have the precise controls something like Halo does, but it makes up for it in intensity.

As a player of the beta I can definitely say that that person was playing HORRIBLY.  You can also catch videos from 1UP's Killzone 2 all nighter a few weeks back which show David Ellis playing much better.  IGN has some nice videos, too.

And now for some gifs to add to this thread:

As someone who's in the beta, are the reports that the controls aren't as precise as other FPS correct?

Never argue with idiots

Define imprecise.  The game doesn't control like a camera on a stick, that's for sure.

Your character feels rather heavy when he moves, and the camera bobs to and fro as such, but you can get kills easily enough.  In fact, it's a bit easier to get kills via shooting from the hip, so iron sites are really only needed when aiming at people pretty far off.

I swear 50% of my posts come from posting KZ2 pics and gifs.

On the 1up game night, they said that in KZ2 there is practically NO aim assist, is this accurate ? I like the idea of no aim assist but I'm sure that the lack of aim assist plus the characters feeling "heavy" will keep this game from reaching mass appeal like COD 4. The masses don't like a hard/challenging game.

Just watched the video and it looked amazing! That guy REALLy sucked at playing though.

Oh, and as always, thanks for the gifs and screenshots MakingMusic! :)

Great thread OP! Any thread with new K2 images is of pure win.

No aim assist, but you get used to it.  It'll probably have more mass appeal than games like UTIII, because it's not near as twitchy.  You don't have to have insane reflexes to survive.

I'm not very good at shooters, and I enjoyed my time with Killzone 2 much more than, say, Resistance 2.  It requires a bit more strategy and not as much insta-reflex.

The aim assist in R2 pisses me off! I can't tell you how many times I'll be shooting someone and I will almost have him killed until one of his teammates runs in front of him and the aim assist switches over to him and follows him for a second which is just enough time for me to get totally owned by the guy I should have killed.

That's great. As long as it's not as strategic as Socom and not as easy to get kills as in COD 4, the multiplayer will be great.

I didn't think the December build could look much better, but it does.

No, this owns Gears 2, MGS4, Uncharted, pretty much everything released on consoles thus far, in graphics.
