1up's technically still there, but it's really in name only

Not that I have much respect for them due to how they've treated the Wii.

They've treated the Wii damned well. Too well, if you ask me. Wii Music got the same score as MGS4, and that's just wrong.

I'm glad to see them go. Soulcalibur IV was not an A, Wii Music was not an A-, and Resistance 2 was not a B+!

As for EGM...meh. Their rating system is too complicated, never really liked them.

Besides, 1UP still exists but, with luck, they will be changing their entire editorial staff.

QQ more. The review of Wii Music was done just the way it should have been done, and PLEASE, MGS4 wasa a shitty movie with some good gameplay during the intermissions, nothing spectacular.

That's your opinion, and it isn't mine.

In my opinion, MGS4 was a masterpiece, and Wii Music was a strange Guitar Hero clone without the guitars, which looks like it was designed for a six year old. Just my opinion.

Actually, I respect them more than almost any other source ever since the Wii Music review.

they are better than the trash most of the readers here look at... IGN and Gamespy

Oh please, they were Sony haters. Almost as bad as EuroGamer and GameSpot used to be.

Once again, I'm glad to see them go. Taking their letter system (which, thank god, is gone from VGC now) with them.

The letter system was also one of the best things they had. What's the difference between a game that scores an 84 an 85 and an 83? I mean.... serously? 5 star is a little bit better but it doesn't convey as much info. Meanwhile A-, A, and A+ are very intuitive. A game can be good, but it has its few downfalls, or it's just good, or it's one of those masterpieces that stands head and shoulders above almost any other game. I'm sorry the score brought down the metacritic score of your movie, but it is what it is. Like I said, QQ moar.

EGM is gone which isn't surprising. News magazines cant function on a monthly system, they get too outdted. They need to be weekly a la Famitsu to stand a chance against the internet

Thanks for the memories. I'm gonna miss those guys.

"It looks like school is out"

good, 1up was a shit site by shit fanboys.

^^^I can't say "Shit Site by Shit Fanboys" three times fast!!

It's sad to see EGM go but that's only nostalgia for the few issues I have sitting around from back when it was a useful publication.
