It might take a while for MKDS. Depends on how big the January drop-off is. Could be summertime, actually.

I expect Mario Kart Wii to do it quickly, and to outstrip it considerably this year.

He looked at the numbers and surmised that MKWii and definately MKDS passing GT3 in two weeks is pretty rediculous. I am 100% certain he knows both of these games eventually will and his predictions for when are about as acurate as someone not having been to the future could be so lay off the guy.




Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

That and Oyv here had perhaps the highest expectations of Mario Kart Wii sales from the beginning, even more than me.... and it has still exceeded those expectations.

Mario Kart Wii will do it in about a month. I have no idea how long Mario Kart DS will take.

Yeah, I have. It blasted my expectations though (12M).

I don't think it will blast my next year expectations though (9M), but again - who does (initially) think their predictions will fail? :P

I expected Mario Kart Wii to do 9 million maximum. Now I expect it to do 22 million. There is even now the remote possibility it will outsell Wii Fit although I doubt that will happen. Wii Fit should be able to do about 30 million.

But I am tired of hearing about Mario Kart Wii because everytime I come to this site and read about the game I am reminded how rubbish I have become in it.

30 million!!?  That would be pretty amazing.  A game selling 5 million is amazing enough.  30 million would be just unreal.

the guy has a kirby avatar..... it is therefore evident that he is biased when speaking of MKWii..... since kirby is not in it, he wants the game to fail!!!
