A motion controller, more advanced pc type tech, more deals like Netflix, uber hype for Rare's for everybody games to go along with hype for hardcore games like Gears 3. They will also try to get any game made by a Western development company to be a Nextbox console exclusive. They won't invest very much at all in the Japanese market.

Sony leaving the gaming industry is quite an assumption to make, I don't think it's also a clever idea to think something like that when you consider Sony cutting a brand which has sold 240 million thus far and this gen even if everything goes wrong the PS3 is 20 million behind 360.

Total Playstation sales = 280 million
Total Xbox sales = 60 million

Playstation dies when Sony dies, it would most definitely be one of the last sections Sony cut off so as I said when Sony dies, then you can think of them leaving the gaming industry. *Gets ready for the guy with the IQ of a banana to say Sony will finish soon*

Well if Sony can't turn a profit with PS3 (which is extremely unlikely) and if the PS4 sells worse than PS3 (with the same losses per console sold early in lifetime) then Sony could be done for. However, the PS3 will profit although it may take awhile and the PS4 probably won't flop. The earliest I can see Sony leaving at a worse case scenario would be after the PS4.

I still do not belive Sony will leave after this gen, they will try to fight back in the future, but i see consoles staying as a 3 horse race, there will be room for 3rd player, EA? Apple?

The PS3 was a huge financial screw up by Sony and this is a big company. Next gen IMO they will go for the safe option for a PS4 with the cell and blu-ray on steroids. That way the console will release cheaper than the PS3 and sell more. PS3 has been the only financial failure for Sony in terms of the Playstation brand and it still has many years to make profit, there are not going anywhere.

They screw up for another 2 gens then ask this question but if I see a brand sell 100 million, 140 million and ? million and then just give up I will be shocked.

If Sony were to bow out of the industry, the XBox platform's purpose would be largely accomplished, and the final step doesn't involve competing with Nintendo. The 720 would then shift toward converting the XBox fanbase to PC gaming, likely being little more than a tricked-out PC running Windows Media Center, so that Microsoft could again focus on a single gaming platform.

I'd say Sony has one more gen in them, if they screw up next gen, then they'll be out
