ummm the LBP had a bundle in the UK only I believe that would explain why it does extrapolate.

The rest of Europe had a LBP bundle too, UK was actually the last to receive it

Maybe it took a while for the actual bundle with the LBP PS3 box to hit the UK, but LBP has been available in the UK as a free game with the PS3 since LBP's launch

At select shops, but most major games are bundled at various places in the UK

Almost all big releases get retail bundles, so I'm not sure what the point is.

Please, can we have Halo 3, COD5, COD4 total numbers? Thank you very much.

so a third of LBP sales came from UK?? (EU wise)

They had it at 18-20 pounds every EU citizen with a credit card and a bit of brain was probably importing from them.

@squilliam

accept it.....PC is dying now!

Sims 3 will save it tho

You wouldn't be saying it if we had sales numbers from Germany or East Europe.  UK is probably most console oriented market here.

Ummm, NO, it was an offer from Sony Europe which is why we got the same deal here in Australia as we are covered by the same branch of Sony. It wasn't just LBP, but also Resistance 2 (once it came out) and Sing Star, but LBP was still available as a free game with a PS3 as soon as it was released in the UK.

Fallout 3 360 - 298k

Fallout 3 PS3 - 180k

Fallout 3 PC - 60k

I dare not make comment...

I dare not make comment...

I dare not make comment...

Edit: Couldn't resist.

Im just going to be gleeful and say all kinds of crap, don't pay attention.

"PC gaming better than console gaming, always" STRIKE!

"PC games sell better than console games" Strike!

I'll leave it at that, before I get too carried away with things. Really this can't be right, a mighty PC gaming icon selling far better on consoles? Hmmm!

Edit 2: Still can't resist:

Thats 2/3 of the tripple B's of PC WRPGs. Bethesda, Bioware, Blizzard... Its close to a trifecta, I can smell it.

it makes perfect sense: HD consoles are casualized gaming PCs

HD gamers are casualized PC gamers

read some Malstrom my boy..it only clears up the confusion

I see PC gamers mostly playing HD consoles..nothing else.. XP well..toodles

ummm the LBP had a bundle in the UK only I believe that would explain why it does extrapolate. Also the wiis not a 1/3 in UK ratio it is much closer to 3.5

Wii- like 3.35
UK- 5.15 mil
Total other - 17.2

PS3- 4.8 ratio
UK- 1.9 mil
Others - 9.2

360- 3.26 ratio
UK- 3.25
Others- 10.6

Actually the 360 is the most UK centric followed by the Wii, but it should be noted that the Wii caught on in the UK and France much sooner. It was kinda weird watching the Wii Craze hit one euro country after another... France was first, then UK, then Germany, Australia, Scandinavia, Italy, Other Europe, then Finally spain in q3 or so of this year...

Basically we will see the Wii ratio Grow from here on out, I think it was 3 like was said earlier not too long ago.

Also as I said, you cannot extrapolate these numbers from the UK simply by multiplication. Maybe in the US you could do that with 1/3 of the raw data, but Europe (and other even further) has much more Diverse taste than In the US as a whole.

Did you notice how I lowered all the ratios, not just the Wii ones?

Ps3 went from 4.8 > 4.5

X360 from 3.25>3

And Wii from 3.33>3

That's because there is bought more SW in the UK than in the rest of Europe (comparatively to number of consoles).

Sure it's flawed, but I still think it is less flawed than using the straight out numbers.

 bull

you had the 360 at 3.5 and it was lower. The other 2 were higher.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
