Actually apparently developers do read at least the official forums for games they've written and I suspect, facing economic pressure they may be reading more. What was the gquote?

"We just can't continue to ignore the Wii any more?"

Whether any will see this letter - doubtful but who knows? It could pop up on Google someday or someone who reads this may someday be able to convey some ideas to a developer. i'LL PLAY A LONG SHOT

Prove it?  I thought it was common sense and universally accepted that Wii Sports is a major reason for the Wii's success.  That it's the biggest system seller of all time.  Do you feel otherwise?  Please tell me what game you feel attracted more people to the console than Wii Sports.

I was trying to get at your statement saying that the reason many people get the Wii is because of Wii Sports and Wii Play.  If this is true then why does the Wii have 6 titles that have sold 5 million units(barring Wii Sports and Wii Play)?

Melty Molten Galaxy: The Sinking Lava Spire

Avoid the steam vents and follow the path around the lava pool to a gap leading to another walkway.

Wait for the lava bursts to recede, then jump the gap and continue on to several floating platforms. Leap across them quickly, as they'll sink into the lava under Mario's weight.

After crossing to solid ground, climb the stairs and carefully maneuver past the steam vents to a concrete pedestal above on the right. Wall kick off of the opposite wall to land on it, then perform a ground-pound to drop this whole portion several feet. Now wait here for a second, as two exposed vents will release some steam. Once they stop, wall jump up that shaft to the top.

Leap onto the right ledge to find a Sling Star. Firing from it will send Mario on a crash course with three more - launch from all of them as soon as Mario touches then to eventually wind up on a small glass planet.

Note: If you resist launching from the Launch Star atop the volcano, Mario will fall inside to a secret area. Activate the switch here to reveal a ton of Star Bits.

Once on the glass planet, leap to the one above to find a trail of Pull Stars you can have Mario follow. The path is pretty direct, but make sure you take a breather before crossing the gaps between a pair of the fiery planets, as fireballs often dart between the two. Don't forget to grab the Power-Up Mushroom halfway, then use the Launch Star at the end.

You'll soon land in a second Launch Star, fire Mario from there as well to skim the planet's surface over to metallic platform. Use the Sling Star there to land on the surface just ahead.

There are five Launch Star pieces here, and while they're not particularly tough to find, the fire foes can prove difficult. We suggest taking them down as soon as you encounter them to prevent them from bugging you as you explore the surface. Look for the Launch Stars in these five places:


On a ledge directly left of the start point.

Between a trio of air vents on the right side.

On a left ledge, about midway up the surface.

Look for this one just past the third piece, near the top of the surface.

The final piece is on a far right ledge on the surface's midsection.

After grabbing all five, use the launch star that appears in the center.

Spire
After landing, work your way across the platforms quickly, as several of them will collapse as soon as they're touched.

As you step foot on the spire, the lava will begin to rise, which means you have to work fast. Stick to the path and avoid unnecessary jumps. Keep running at full tilt to dart past the three dropping balls, then leap onto the concrete pedestal and give it a good ground-pounding to cause it to sink. Immediately jump off to the right side and wait here for it to sink completely, revealing a shaft you should wall jump up ASAP.

This next portion is relatively easy. Just head left and follow the path, while leaping over the obstacles in the way. After climbing the staircase at the end, smash the crystal three times to reveal the star.

the controller sells the system and wii sports helps you test the controller, the system doesn't sell because the game looks appealing, the controller helps the game look appealing, and yes u do seem like a troll i looked at ur profile u have a bunch of 360 games why do u care about the wii if ur not a troll

 



You can still do big, flashy games. They'll just have better controls in lieu of the extra layer of flash that mainly the fanboys care about.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Wii is a lot of fun and the greatest marketing tool since the Coca Cola sign but it is what it is. We are seeing for the first times serious attempts to write games designed for the Wii and it's paying off. Madden 07 never made Gold and never will, Madden 08 may still or come very close, 09 Madden All Play is a Lock, so is Tiger Woods, Fifa 08 made Gold could go on. Shaun White, is outselling HD versions.

I mention these because at one time it was said that sports would never sell on the Wii but the developers adjusted. While still not selling the numbers the HD do, the development costs are lower and reportedly are quite happy with the profits.My point being that even in genre's that aren't the strongest, developers have adjusted, turned out a quality product and made some good profit.



Number 11: Learn to make games like Nintendo, don't try to make Nintendo games.

A.) Test, test, test. Many games with great potential have fallen flat due to a lack of testing. Get your game into the hands of as many different people as you can as quickly as you can and take advantage of any insight you can get. Personal story: Someone I knew once did an advertisement for the Phantom Hourglass (DS) and the developers constantly bugged him for his thoughts on the game, they were extremely interested in how he found it. He doesn't play games at all, but it shows how serious they are about this process.

B.) Fun is as important as excitement. You can only reliably excite anyone once, but if you make a game fun they will keep coming back to it. Nintendo games may not always be the most exciting games you can play, but they are generally among the most consistantly fun games and their fans can keep coming back to them.
