Good graph Bigjon. I think this demonstrates quite well how SMG is slowly creeping up to Halo 3. Just when it will catch it then is the question i suppose then?

Actually, this graph is pretty useless. It gives a fake perspective, as SMG sees the holiday boost earlier (on the graph) than Halo 3.

It will in a few weeks make it seem as if Halo 3 actually sold better in the next few weeks than SMG. That alone should put the graph off.

As for the SM64 allignment, it sells in a completely different way than SMG, and thus comparing them becomes useless.

We're looking at 14M ETY 08.

Then 150K/week (it hasn't dropped below it in 08, with the exception of a few supply constrained weeks) for the first 6 months = ~ 4M

120K/week for the next 4 months = 2M

Then 3M (vs 4.5M for 08) in the holidays

Equal 9M, and honestly - I think it will beat that.

I think Galaxy will outsell Halo 3. I think the Wii will sell at least 4 times as much as it already has, so I don't see why Galaxy can't sell 1.5 times as much as it already has.

Looking at the million sellers it seems as if SMG will probably have to outsell SM64 to reach Halo 3 sales. That would be an achievement in itself and would probably propel it into peoples' Wii "big hitters" lists. I personally, when all is said and done, believe SMG will have better legs than brawl and have an outside chance of catching that, too.

SMG has outsold Halo this holidays season, the graph is a bit off but actually Halo has been out a month or 2 longer.. so we should take where smg is in feb and compare to what is right now if we are going to be picky. Also the only reason Mario64 ds sells differently is because it was a lauch title meaning it launch on a smaller user base, 2 it was a port. SMG should have better legs than that game because SMG is an original title, and 3d games arent as popular on handhelds.

I'm gonna give this one to Halo 3. Halo 3 is the MUST own game on the 360. It could reach 10-11 million before its done.

SMG is doing amazing though, so its a tough call.

SMG is a single-player game & therefor has a higher rate of trade ins than Halo 3, which is primarily multiplayer. IMO, people are less likely to trade-in multiplayer games. Otherwise SMG would surely best Halo 3.
