Forums - PC Discussion - 2009: PC's Best Year EVER (possibly better than all consoles combined)

i'm in need of a good PC reviewing web site.... seems all game sites I usually folow are consoles oriented now....

But I agree with the op, best year for PC (that is if starcraft and diablo come out....which will be game of the year???)

I just would love a good mech game this year. Will have to dig in your list :p

Just because you list a lot of games doesn't make any of them good.

Theres a lot of assumption that Starcraft can live up to the legacy of its predacessor. It has big shoes to fill here...

PC Gamer UK is the authority on PC, and I say that as an American.  The magazine is much thicker and features better writing than the US version, unfortunately it's around $100 to import.

Thankfully they launched  a website a couple years go, CVG, and it quickly replaced my IGN bookmark.  Check it out:

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

It's funny how I don't remember Blizzard to have ever failed; everything they touch turns to gold and even more so than with Valve.

So a smaller-budget and a smaller PC game is always worse than a huge-budget huge console game then? There are many good PC games only few have heard of so they shouldn't be considered bad only because you've never heard of them.

Impressive list, in terms of numbers at least.
And to point towards PC games like Starcraft, Warcraft and so on and say that these are still being played while dismissing console games in that regard is like saying the Mona Lisa isn't a work of art.
Do you know the major difference between those old PC games and the console games? Online multiplayer.
Yet you are dissing the likes of LBP without even thinking how evolution in the industry has shortened the barrier between PC and console games.
I really, really want to play what game from 1998? Metal Gear Solid.
I loved MGS4, and I will treasure this game for many years to come, and right now one of my greatest wishes is that Sony would pull themselves together and release MGS on the PS Store, so I can play that too.
But all the people who pull out their old PS1s and play MGS or FFVII every once in a while are not counted in online. Which kind of defeats your point as you have no idea how many people return to these classics.

And even so, you were already owned on this subject by Super Mario on the VC (as already pointed out by... someone >_>).

I guess it's a matter of opinnion cause that line-up doesn't impress me all that much.

Thanks for the site =) Fry

Braid, Mirror's Edge, Burnout Paradise, and Saints Row 2 are all multi, and have been available on other consoles for months. Ordinarily I wouldn't give a rats ass, but since you constantly bitch about how X360/PC isn't exclusive in the MS forum you should take those off your list if you want to preserve any credibility. That, or stop calling the list PC exclusives - your choice.

Im not saying that it won't be excellent, its just the expectations are something out of this world for it. Long time classic, competition has caught up in quality. So even if its very good it may not meet the standard people set out for it.

Heard of Xcom? ^^
