It's gonna be a long while. If XIII gets out in Japan by the end of this year, we'll hopefully see it by the end of 2010.

I thought some (the newest, from the SE even previous fall?) Japanese trailer stated it was coming in 2009? Well, obviously that's for Japan and nothing else has been announced but at least it is something. I think it's possible and should arrive by the end of 2010 everywhere. I wouldn't even completely count out a 2009 release for NA, though that is pretty unlikely.

If it was coming out in March or May 09' in Japan. I would say there is a 25% chance it could come out in NA by christmas. But since we don't even have a date yet no way it is that early, so 0% chance of NA release this year

You missed a lot by skipping FFX. It was epic. I also liked the story of FFIX but couldn't stand the character design and the trance system. FF12's gameplay is good (the story is pretty lame though). You might want to pick them up during your wait.

you would think the amount of time spent on graphics and all that junk that takes so long to release each game the story people would have like 5 years to think of each story and should be amazing, even book quality. But yea I have found them after playing more and more of the old games FF3, 4, and so on to be just slight knockoffs of earlier versions and not too much thought.

And by long time to write story I mean when the writers finished story for FF12 and handed it in, they had How much time to write a story for 13. however long the game takes to be made and dialogued and all that since the story was handed in. And then however long before they are asked to hand in the story for 13.

I mean when do you guys think they finished writing up the final story for 13. Now they have all of the time from when that was till lets say we see a first trailer for 14. Which I don't see us seeing one for another 4 years.

Final Fantasy XIII will likely hit Japan somewhere between Q3 and Q4 next year. It will then make it to America sometime between Q1 and Q2 2010. Europe is anyone's guess after that.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will likely release between 3 and 6 months after Final Fantasy XIII in every region.

Why then: Because SE has finally put out their upcoming list of releases for 09 and FFXIII is up there. Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete will be out sometime in march for Japan, as well as the demo for the game that comes on the disc. Demos usually don't come out that far away from their actual game's release. SE says their localization process has been drastically shortened so the US version shouldn't take that long. This is assuming the game is not further delayed because of 260 Port.

Why Then: I highly doubt Final Fantasy Versus XIII will come out before XIII does. Versus is also placed on SE's listing for a 09 release. I assume they are talking about the Japan version of the game. Same thing with localization.
