Yes, it's been like this for quite some time, i'm thinking about making a wired connection but i don't want another wire in my room >.<. Soon as i get this problem again, i'll reset my router, do the IP thing and see how it goes...

And disabling the media server didn't worked

Sorry for the rude thread title, i was really angry at the time lol

My friend had this problem as well, and it is your internet connection.  To play R2 you need a stable connection or their servers will auto-kick you in an effort to prevent lag cheating.  I would recommend a wired connection.  In my friends case it was a corroded fixture outside his house that his ISP found and fixed.

It's not the R2 servers, it's my psn account that logs off. Well, they go as far as disconnecting you from the PSN? lol

Not me.

Having some LBP server issues though atm.

I'm only having problems with littlebigplanet.

having you ps3 wired or wireless to your router won't make a difference, some routers just cause weird problems. To test for sure, you could connect your ps3 directly to your modem, but I'm pretty sure it's the router, try updating firmware if theres anything newer for it.

If its disconnecting you from PSN via DNS error, then it is likely a local problem.  What is your signal strength/NAT type? Have you tried placing your PS3 in a DMZ?  What country are you in?  Are you in a dormitory that may have restrictions on port usage/bandwidth usage ?

Maybe you could give port forwarding a go, but it should be unnecessary if you had no problems before.  I would still consider at least trying a wired connection to see if that is the problem or not.  Unless it is a huge pain in the ass that is.

Ethernet is a better option. I use it for my Wii and laptop, as the online networks run faster than using Wi-Fi. If you have a cordless phone where you live, it may be on the same frequency as your router, which cuts and nulls your PS3's chances from receiving the signal. It does the same thing with my Wii, DS, and cell phone, but for some reason it does not affect my laptop. I would use Ethernet if I were you, unless you have a model that Sony took it out from

I have no problems..

Eww.  A wireless connection.  Yea it could be the router that you are using.  You may need to do some research for the wireless router you are using.  I know Apple Airport and few other wireless routers don't play nice with Sony products.  I would look online and definately see if there are any firmware updates for you router.

As network professional in the industry, we have a few year to go before wireless connections become acceptable in my book for online gaming.  It great for surfing and light media and file transfers but do to the signal strength, bandwidth limatation, and encryption requirements, not the best choice for online gaming.

I'm just saying...

I've had the occasional DNS error, it's usually resolved be restarting the router. PSN has always worked fine for me, so I'm not sure what else to suggest.

We were using an Apple airport for a while and the thing worked like a charm for our PS3 ^^ however, some of the other computers in our house were supposedly suffering because of it (which I think is bs and my roomate just hates wifi and mac's).

But yeah I rarely have issues like that, our internet is fickle though as we have many a roomates who enjoy unlimited use of bit-torrent >_>;; so sometimes it's a connection issue simply due to bandwidth >
