Do you see the text and numbers along the bottom of the graph? Those are dates. They start at the PS3's launch and tell how much the 360 is ahead of or behind at that point in time. It's not as tricky as you think and in fact it's pretty straightforward. At the launch of the 360, it did not have a 5.5 million lead over the PS3. At the launch of the PS3 it had a lead of 5.5 million lead. That is what the graph is saying. I don't know how to make that any simpler. |
I always read discussions on vg chartz and I laugh about how pointless they are, and now I am in one discussion!.
The info in the bottom of the graph are just the weeks since release so it's just a simple count 1,2,3,4,5,6,7...
Anyway I think 360 and ps3 were realesed the both in november in America (the biggest market) so they actually the lines are comaparable, but not 1:1.
The sales of consoles are seasonal so if I release my console in february and you release your console in november (close to the christmas season) your sales will be better in the first two months than mine. That's my point about the graphs, but how I say they are actually alligned (partially) because both consoles were released in november in America (not the same year obviously).
I know... my english sucks
