Get a nice HDTV, or at least HD-Ready. SD doesn't do justice to the PS3.

I'm pretty sure I'll get MGS4 as well.... Can I understand the story without playing the previous games ? (I played the beginning of MGS2 and it was confusing - but cool)
Normally I wouldn't get Ratchet & Clank, but it's pretty cheap so I guess it's possible.

Next question: How much do I need to pay for high profile PSN titles ? (Such as Siren, Wipeout HD, R&C Quest for Booty)

Probably last question: I know I can't hook up the PS3 via VGA to my CRT Monitor, but is it possible to hook it up to my 17'' LCD monitor (DVI) ?

Resistance 1 & 2 are both great games, definitely get those. I think you will still like LBP. They just added the MGS pack so get that. It gives you the "Paintinator" gun which shoots out little blobs of paint to fire at will. The levels for it are pretty damn cool, almost feels like contra. The level design tools are awesome as well as the levels already made. You will be astounded by some of the things people have came up with. Just last night I was riding in a tank with controls for back and forward, a connon switch, small anti air craft missile launcher, as well as the paintinator attached to it for on the go destruction. LBP is for EVERYONE!

And in actuallity LBP is not as kiddy as it looks, its actually a little masachistic to an unparalled degree. The way they just explode and stuff is hilarious. And the Narrator is a mixture of creepy and cool with some of the random things he says

Suggested Games...

Valkyria Chronicles, a must for RPG fans as well as Strategy fans. Perfection

MGS4,DUH! If you own a PS3 and not MGS4 you should be shot!

Heavenly Sword is awesome but really short, buy it or rent it.

as well as R1 and R2

And reserve Killzone 2 because the demo is available on monday for those who reserve it through gamestop.

I think the other posters have the games list covered, as for the credit card issues, buy a pre-paid credit card, once the money is on the card it is as good as any other card (just make sure it is a major credit card like visa or mastercard) i think the only thing it cant be used for is renting vehicles...they need a real credit card in case you steal the car or something lol

Congratz!

The only games you have to get are LBP (already covered), Uncharted, and MGS4.

Why? Just look at how many times each of these has been recommended thus far in this thread. :P

After that, I'd recommend (in this order) R&C Future, R&C Future: Quest for Booty, Heavenly Sword (though it's short, so only get it for cheap), and Valkyria Chronicles.

And this is the third thread I've seen like this in the past two days...

R&C is $14.99 USD, Wipeout is $19.99 USD, and Siren can be purchased in episodes, or as a single package.  The package is $19.99, I believe, while the episodes total up to a bit more than that if purchased individually.

I'm not sure how much they would be in pounds, though.  In the US full retail releases start off at $59.99, for comparison.

Ok guys I'm planning to buy the PS3 Little Big Planet bundle from Amazon.co.uk

Unfortunately they only accept credit cards, so I need to get one in the next days.... (I won't ask my father, to pay the console with his card. He would kick me in the nuts)

I'm not the biggest fan of LBP, but I know this bundle has a great value compared to the bundles here in Germany (thx to the weak £ and the solid €) So I can get a PS3 80GB + LBP for 300€. (In Germany it's about 400€)

However I know this request is very popular, but nevertheless please recommend me some good PS3 EXCLUSIVES. (I will get all multiplat titles on my 360, because I share them with my brother)

Maybe you could also explain why I should get them and if there are any comparable games released on consoles of this or last generation.

There are plenty of equally quality multi-platform games, but let me just put it like this... After experiencing how SOLID the PS3 hardware is and if you find the Dual Shock 3 to be a great controller, you'll be buying mullti-platform games for the PS3. Can't be explained, but you will get the feeling that the PS3 is "serious" after getting more familiar with the hardware.
