Forums - Sales - Why is some people saying that the Wii will destroy gaming as we know it?

I don't think so. In my opinion, now that the market is expanded it will be resources to produce games for everyone, for the casuals and for the hardcore. Standard gaming and High Definition gaming. Pick and play games and Deep inmersive 120 hours games. FPS's, RPG's, Sports, Action, fighting, Adventure, Plataforms, strategy, simulation you name it. More of everything for everyone.

If the Wii will destroy gaming as we know it, what are the argument to state such a thing? If that is correct (I don't think so) how gaming is going to be like in the next generation?

wii isnt destroying it, its expanding it

Take your time to answer. In the meantime I will go to sleep and check the answers in the morning.

Edit: I hope I won't have to revive or redo this thread tomorrow, but I will do it if needed: I want my answers

Thanks

Because it has. Motion controls are now the future direction gaming will take on.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Didn't you just make this thread?

Because most fanboys think that "gaming" is their little perfect world exclusive for themselves instead of a mainstream form of entretainment.

Well ,for what I knew from gaming .....Fall and Christmas was the time when the big games were released and tons of good games came to the market .

Look at this Fall with the Wii ......only the dreadful Wii Music. But take it easy ,Wii Play and Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii keep selling like hotcakes and you can throw in Wii Sports too to boost some millions more the numbers .

Look at advertising ....videogaming was about more or less young people playing something cool with impressive audiovisual envelope and good production values .Now we get to see some old people or actors (here in my country theres a lot of advertising with local film actors) pretending they are having lots of fun .

Its changing gaming. And for the core gamers ,probably not for the best .

Noname2200:

Is similar. In the other one I was asking for the reasons why for the Wii hate/fear. Now I would like to understand how the Wii will destroy "gaming as we know it", if that is a real scenario.

Lets keep it to your other thread just like this one.
