Relax and wait a few months and you'll see once again that Nintendo are still making some of the best games out there. Galaxy is just one of the highest rated game over so your thread kind of fails. Nintendo are still making hardcore games but also try to gather a widest audience and its probably one of the most intelligent move ever in the game industry.

Few years ago, nintendo was selling less and less console and then came the DS. Some with exactly the same reasoning as you said the DS was a total failure and now it "has powned the so hardcore PSP" (no offence to psp players). I'm not saying here than psp is crap or something like this, the point is that at the beginning the DS was a "casual bullshit" prooving than Nintendo had completly lost their mind. Now it is one of the most sucessful system ever botn in term of sales and games quality.

The wii is not gonna be as "hardcore" as the Xbox360 or the ps3 but is still gonna be one of the most sucessful system ever exactly for the same reasons as the DS. It will appeal to every kind of audience even if people like you try to say that they killed gaming in one of your very doubtful conspiracy theory.
Games like Monster Hunter 3, Dragon Quest X, madworld, sin and punishment 2 and the next zelda are not maybe all gonna be GOTY but they are still gonna appeal to "hardcore gamers" (which I still think is a ridiculous expression).

So in the end we will all look at this thread in a few years (or maybe not) and realise how some should have stop worring and cared only about playing good games...

There's one difference between casuals and hardcores. The hardcores will still be gaming by the end of 2009, on the real game systems. We hardcores ahve been gaming since we were little kids, and now Nintendo is betting everything on little kids! Instead of us! Its insulting but more important it won't work as a business. Why? Have you seen recent Blu-Ray sales?

Have fun playing Wii Babysit and Mario Hotdog Eating Contest 4, casual nub. I'll keep playing the tons of AAA blockbusters that come out for PS3 every month, and I'll do it with 5 times as many pixels as you ROFLOL.
