Double Dash by a country mile.

The loss of multiplayer GP was devastating.

Unlocking stuff by playing alone makes the game near worthless to me.

Mario Kart Wii will be fun for you if you enjoy playing by yourself a lot to unlock all the extras.

Multiplayer GPs are in the game, for up to four players instead of just two like in previous console Mario Kart games. You can't unlock stuff by playing that though.

The important stuff in the game (all tracks in 150cc) is unlocked within a couple of hours.

And yes, I am aware that you wrote this post with the intent of baiting me.

Unlocking things is an important part of the GP.  One of the big reasons Double Dash got a lot of play was the fact that we could unlock things together.  The result of not having it in MKWii is that no one bothers to unlock anything.

The fact that you have to do it by yourself is a major turn off for MKWii.  Of course, for people used to playing by themselves... I'm sure they'll enjoy it a lot.

If you didn't like Double Dash don't get Mario Kart Wii.

Actually, I'd say if you didn't like DD you may like MK Wii.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

I think that MKwii is better than DD
Its really good in every aspect of the game

Not being able to unlock things together was the worst part of the game.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

I wouldn't mind knowing what you think of MK64, considering there wasn't really anything to unlock in it at all..... you seem to be basing your hatred of the game purely on unlocking things, did you stop playing double dash after you had unlocked everything?
MKWii starts out with almost as many characters and karts as double dash had even if you did unlock everything.

Personally I loved double dash, but MKWii far exceeds it.

For Online gaming and Playing time = Mario Kart Wii

For 4 player splitscreen = Double Dash

Mario Kart Wii by a long shot--absolutely nothing can beat the visceral feeling of actually steering.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

In terms of play time, for me it goes... SMK > DD > 64 > Wii.  The original SMK was great especially in music and course design.  64 was depressing since they took out Koopa Troopa and put Wario in.  3 heavy weights = yuck.  Double dash fixed the character problem and gave us multiple items.

Of course DD is still played, most of the time these days DD still played over MKWii thanks to its multiple battle and VS modes.

Mario Kart has a trend so far on consoles:  Awesome, Mediocre, Awesome, Mediocre.

I look forward to the next one.

Mario Kart Double Dash is not an abomination. It got excellent reviews, everywhere. Sure, it's very different from the series, but it took the Mario franchise to a different direction for the time being, which was refreshing, but Mario Kart 64 will always be the best.
