RPGs, the PS1,2 had an amazing library.
The games that really got me into the original Playstation were Tomb Raider 2, Resident Evil and Silent Hill. I also loved the old crash games. And then I got a PS2 first day and it just had an amazing library. The systems have been good to me with both my original PS1 (original design) and PS2 (FAT model) still working perfect and my PS3 is just amazing!
I got the PS1 as a gift and loved it, so bought the PS2. Loved that even more, plus the PS brand had Ratchet, Jak, and most importantly God of War, so I bought a PS3.
I didn't really have much interest in the Playstation brand until 2004. At that point MGS3, San Andreas and the previews for God of War and Shadow of the Colossus were too much to ignore so I picked up a PS2 and I was blown away. With the PS2 as my favorite system of all time I picked up a PSP and then the PS3.
Originally I had a Sega mega drive/genesis and though I didn't have a notion of it at the time I was definitely a Sega fanboy. Then came Demo1 which drew me in and convinced me to buy a playstation. Final fantasy VIII made me a Sony fan.
my parents bought me a ps2 when i was younger in 2001. the chance of a ps3 breaking has always been very low and i like the exclusives. i didnt like the 360 cuz it broke alot (not suprising from a company like microsoft) and i didnt even like 1 exclusive. i dont like cartoonish games the wii had so ps3 was my choice.
Early in the PS2 the 6th gen. Me likey thier 1st party shit. Nintendo didn't impress me with anything outside of Zelda, pokemon... and slightly Kirby. And I never saw anything cool from MS. Not to mention that they were getting alot of 3rd party stuff. I didn't know much back then, I just thought the PS2 was damn awesome.
Now that I do know a bit about the industry and I actually know who are making the games, first, third, and second party I still feel the same about them.
4 ≈ One
I've never owned any other consoles. I guess I might be missing out but I've just always supported Sony, it's more a name thing than anything else I think. Don't get me wrong though, I really enjoyed all four of their consoles(PS1-PS3, PSP).

My brother bought the PS1 since we already had the N64. Suddenly, it become my favorite console. It had an amazing library: MGS, FFIX, Crash Bandicoot, etc. Then got a PS2 and it was the same. Amazing library. Thousands of hours of fun. Then got the PSP and PS3 and well, it's not exactly what I expected...not even close sadly.
