Forums - Gaming - Yet another Sony exclusive title goes the Way of the 360

XBox 360 will have a much better 2009 games lineup than PS3. XBox 360 beat PS3 in 2006,2007 and 2008 in regards to both console sales and had better games list than PS3 for three consecutive years. 2009 will not be any different to the previous years.
It would not surprise me to see quite a few of these so called remaining "PS3 exclusive titles" to come to XBox 360 and become multi-platform.
90% of the time any given game sells better on XBox 360 than PS3.

2008 is your opininon which is not shared by many gaming website as PS3 received many awards for having the best software line up in 08.

in 09?

please don't make me laugh.as it stands now X360 09 line up is much weaker than PS3  09 line up.It might change in future with more announcememnt from MS side ,,but right now someone should be kidding him/her self for calling X360 09 line up "much better" than PS3 09 line up.(it could be your taste but something is pretty obvious ,,,that 09 PS3 line up has lots of high budget games rather than DLC after DLC after DLC)

ot:this is only in japan.I doin' think it can even sell 20000 LTD there.I have never heard of this game but it looks very bad ,,,almost PS2 like.

@ million Opening up your wallet in order to win is a strategy that's sustainable in the long term for Microsoft. They have enough money to do it.

Sony has arguably the best lineup. That's fine. You can argue that any of the three systems has the best lineup depending on what type of games you like.

Tell me what the sales are and you tell me if Sony can continue to lose exclusivity to more and more games. I know several people that say why would I get a PS3 when I can get a 360? It has almost all of the same games and is cheaper. I'm not saying that this argument is completely correct but this is how a lot of people look at it.

Also, many people that are into HD gaming are into shooters. Microsoft has Halo, which regardless of your tastes, is the most popular shooting franchise in the world.

Get your keyboard fixed.

At least the awsome sony exclusives will never go multiplat. Inevitably the PS3 will have the edge over the 360 in terms of exclusives, Sony just spends more money developing games than MS pays for moneyhats....

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

Loosing money indefinitely to "win" is a shitty strategy for every company even if they make enough money otherwise.

Yeah Sony needs to lower the price of the PS3 not buy some exclusives. With God of War3, Killzone2, Uncharted2 and hopefully Gran Tourismo 5 they do not need to pay for exclusives 2009. They need simply to lower the price so a 80Gb PS3 doesn't cost twice what a 60Gb 360 costs (amazon.co.uk 159 pound vs. 279 pound today) The PS3 has enough value to support a higher price but the current difference is laughable, Sony needs to fix this or they will loose out. At the moment I would buy a 360 over a PS3. I think its pretty astonishing that one of the most experienced producers of consumer electronics isn't able to produce a 2 year old piece of electronics cheaper.

Yes and they get an expansion pack 2009. Hardly a killer feature.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but Sony really can't lower their price much more.  They are losing way too much money as it is.

^Sony must lower the price of the PS3. They have to increase their install base. Otherwise they wont be seeing any third party exclusives. If their first party games dont prove to produce a handful of killer aps theyre screwed.

I'm actually wondering is this even worth it from the devs perspective.

All the extra man hours only to sell an additional 30-40k on the 360.

Still, I'm not even sure how they can break even with only 100k sold, their games must be very, very cheap to develop.

^They probably intend to localize it for western markets to further boost sales.  1 and 2 were localized in the past so it wouldnt be unlikely.

Its really hard for Sony to keep exclusive when third parties are screwing everything up for them. Oh well, as long as PS3 doesn't lose a monster exclusive again, I won't be rioting. I still hate Third-Parties.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Lets face it, its not the highest profile game thats gone multiplat is it?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
