Can be less and IMO can also be well more, depending on unknown factors neither you nor I have any real influence on. IMO nothing to become upset about, my prediction (actually "expectation" would be the better word here) stands.

Some reasons (amongst many others):
- Little room to drop the 360 entry pricing below 119 Euro or 199 Dollar. I think the PS3 will drop more regarding entry pricing the upcoming years.
- The most anticipated PS3 games are still under development, all well sold XBox games already saw 360 sequels and there's nothing really major or spectacular on the radar.
- The PS3 is very well specced for a long term future, the 360 will not see major technical gains from here on, unless Microsoft decides to screw arcade customers and allow for future games to require a harddrive.

Agree with them or not, it doesn't matter enough to get upset.

Indeed dividing his numbers by two also yields a much more sensible prediction of 7-12.5 million PS3s sold during this year.

People always seem to bash the PS3 for its poor sales in its first two years,but seem to forget that the Xbox 360 only sold 15 million in the same time frame.The PS3's total sales for its first three years will be more than the Xbox 360 sales for its first three years,guaranteed.

 

I still predict the PS3 to sell between 60-85 million by end of the year 2012.Keeping with Sony's ten year plan it could easily pass the 100 million mark by 2016.

I'd think it would have a possibility of hitting 80 million if the price drops down to $199 by then...I expect the ps3's sales to go up big time once it hits $299, and then to skyrocket once it hits $199. And it should be $199 by 2011 I'm sure giving it huge sales that year.

Japan should come alive once Final Fantasy hits it...hopefully late this year with a price cut and bundle.

It will be fun to watch this prediction fall apart like your expectations that the PS3 would sell as well in 2008 as the PS2 sold in 2001 ...

He'll be busy hyping up GT6, the TEN-YEAR-PLAN, GTA5 and FFXIV.

 

Wii fans didnt make fun of john lucas, when he said nintendo would be king this gen.
