You presume a lot of posts equates to some kind of moral superiority but the real quality of a mod should be to remain impartial for the good of the site and it's users as a whole even when censoring a post they may be in agreement with.

Some of the current mods are not even up to this without confusing the situation by allowing even more users to moderate.

Got 2 ideas

1) Get more mods. Use users that are usually quite active around the site.

2) 5000 posts, and no more than 2 bans yourself [3 strikes and you're out.]. This can also be a good way to judge and decide for better mods in the future.

I say only people with +8000 posts who got banned get that power they know first hand whats good and what not

I don't like that ideal at all, if we need more mods ioi will assign more mods. People that can be trusted and are responsible.

It would be far too abused

i don't like the idea. Everyone doesn't have good judgement.

Strangely, the people with small post counts are not fans of this idea. But why?
