PC's dont have good exclusives though. is Gears of War 2 on the PC? how about Final Fantasy XIII? O.o

Consoles has exclusives that PC just wont get sometimes.

It's a matter of taste. Ignoring the fact that PC has far more games than all consoles combined, while we didn't get GeoW2, we got Crysis Warhead and Clear Sky (both better than GeoW2, Imo). So if you can't even beat PC in the genre you mentioned, how can you even think of beating it in Strategy, Adventure, Simulation, Puzzle/Board/Parlor and RPG genres?

The moment a genre is done competently on a console, and generates sufficient sales numbers, it begins to disappear from the PC.  That is the nature of the business.  Multiple genres have all but vanished off the PC, outside of garage games, and indie developers.

@Staude

Why are you installing unwanted software in first place? :D

Didn't you say that you have good knowledge about computers?

That does not mean i can wave a magic wand around that removes all malacious malware, spyware and other sorts of crap from things getting installed before said install.. I honestly don't think you are that unintelligent. Stop trying to spin things.

There is a potential thread for all of these whenever you do anything online and offline. (in particular online)

Newsflash, PS3 has a harddrive!

Your point being ?

And consoles do not break? :D

The ps3 has around 0.02 percentage failure rate.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/136054/sony_claims_ps3_failure_rate_of_less_than_1_percent.html

Furthermore consoles OS are not unreliable are they ? no, stop pretending to be stupid.

Well, as I have said before sony fanatics are more like religious fanatics, who just live in their own world where sony is the god and PS3 jesus. And of course they are making fool out of themselves.

Fanatics even ? are microsoft fanboys in any way better ? or nintendo ? I say no. And just because i like my console doesn't make me a fanboy either.

The fact that you even pretend like these things are not true tells me that you might be the one living in your own world.

Can you use keyboard & mouse in every console game? Can you use any device in any console game? Sure keyboard and mouse users tend to rape pad users in fps games, but still theres games like racing where you would do much better with wheel controller for example.

How is that relevant to anything i said ? answer it's not. But as a point of reference you can use a keyboard and mouse with the ps3. Not in every game, but the machine itself supports it. I also don't want an assortment of peripherals and other useless junk.

So if I buy a car that has been made in 80's and it works only 1% of time it means that cars are unrealiable? Humm... Logic? Where is it? :P

Anyway, of course theres crappy hardware too. Just don't buy it. *cough* acer *cough* fujitsu *cough*

Like i said, there are a million of pc combinations so PCs as a whole you can't say are reliable. Infact with the wide range of hardware the os and the software needs to support it's obvious why it is not. I think you should stop pretending with all that bullshit and just come clean, i'm done arguing with you because you ignore the actual points and try to spin the shit. Stop wasting my time.

I'm done with this thread. You can pull a world of fairy dust over your own eyes if you want to. Whatever. I didn't come in here to argue with you in the first place. In particular when we both know, or should, that i am right.

Check out my game about moles ^

I think for the most part it really comes down to this.

If your home computer is fine for general use OR a laptop you're pretty much better off with a console in 80% of cases. This is your standard P4 windows box or any modern laptop and seriously, people do not need to upgrade to write their letters faster.

If you don't want to pay for games, get a PC.

If your computer needs to be updated anyway and you want a desktop, then PC gaming makes a lot of sense. If not, the games will be there waiting for you at a cheap price when you do.

Current PC gamers can sort what they want out for themselves, they've already made their choices and understand the pros/cons, and so can console gamers.

However the assertion that "PC gaming is better" without clarification is completely false. "Better than what? for whom?"

Just seems to be more cost effective to go console, otherwise, you're just spending your money upgrading the processor, video card, and memory capacity.

If you even have to ask that question, then the vastly superior answer for you, is stick with consoles.

No one without at least 2 years experience in building, and actively working on computers should even consider PC gaming as an alternative for an HD console.

Um, what? I've never built my own computer up until recently, and it was pretty damn easy. If you can follow instructions, you can build a PC. The hardest part of getting my pc together was getting osx to work 100% on foreign hardware. Everything else was a breeze. That said, i'd probably recommend a x360 to most people over a PC just because it's simpler and cheaper.

@OP: if you don't mind playing new games mainly on console and PC games when they go budget, you can use both PC and console for gaming without spending too much on PC upgrades (and saving on games too). This way a cheap mid-range PC should be enough, you should just avoid intel onboard graphics.

Thanks!

Though I would say that the majority of people in the western world are turning towards consoles of some description for their gaming. The reason why PC gaming is so popular in the East is because

1. Its easy to pirate, so where would PC gaming be if it wasn't free?

2. Their computers are all essentially new, they've had a massive upsurge in computer use and the computeres they have recently aquired can pretty much play the latest games. What happens in 5 years when they have a glut of obsolete machinary? These computer cafes are essentially modern arcades and we all know what happened to them when you could do as much if not more from home.

3. The modern Xbox 360/Wii/PS3s aren't $100 yet.

It makes more sense to buy a console for gaming. If you buy a PC, you're most likely to spend twice as much money than on a console. I rather buy a console because I don't have the money to update my PC on a daily basis.
