It will based on most sales come after price breaks and its already half way there another 3 years in sales  it will be there.

as for your prediction of 22 million by the end of 2009 that would be a huge disapointment.

As i said, Europe is the last territory when the PS3 is very strong, since this conversation is becoming "repetitive", i guess we can leave the predictions here and start again may be in 6 months, time will tell who was right and who was wrong.

Good point, but mostly all of those sales are the casual ones that still belived in the "Playstation" Brand, i guess we still need more time to see the way sales will go for this year.

PS3 will reach 40 million units sold. Even BEFORE 360

I am positive it will, but the PS3 could remain in 3rd place. No big deal if the 3rd place console sells 50+ million. As long as the console is supported, games trickle out, and Blu Ray grows, I see no reason to fret.

Firstly, I think it will but anyone thinking it will do it this year must be smoking a very special kind of crack. However without a very significant year on year increase in sales in 2009 i could see the PS3 struggling to sell significantly more than 40 million. I know there is not alot of history to go by but historically third placed consoles don't sell well in their 3rd and 4th years. In short this will be the year that will make or break or break the PS3 and i for one can't wait to see what happens.

Still think the PS3 wont get the 40 million, but i after the price drop and the low Final Fantasy sales, i see a little bit more than 35 million ¬ ¬

PD: I Expected FF XIII to be move alot more than 500K in hardware by this season, honestly the PS2 did soooooo much better in Japan back in those days where the Playstation was the name of the videogames . . .
