Forums - PC - Run for the hills! EA's at it again?

The joke is on EA as I don't know anyone who ever goes back to an EA game after playing it the first time except NFS: MW.

HAHAAHAHA. Imagine if Blizzard made you buy a new Starcraft or Diabo II CD every 6 months.

I think your brain needs some juice, because you don't seem to get the concept of expansion, nor do you understand that the single-player of Starcraft 2 would the same size either way.

I love and prefer epic storylines done right, so I support Blizzard on this one.

I think you are the one that needs some juicin' up, but that's just my opinion on the matter. It's not about size.

Give me an epic storyline while playing all 3 races in single-player, it can be just as epic and just as non-linear. No reason for people to wait a year for Zerg or two for Protoss.

Its not just EA. I have been looking a lot of digital dist solutions/stores, and a lot of them do something (stupid) like this.

I can't remember who the provider was, but as a test - I wanted to buy some stupid "Rock Garden" game (a terrible game BTW). It was going to cost me $35AU - PLUS a 10% (around $4) non-optional fee for some "download security", that allowed me to download it again if I needed to.

The fact that it was non-optional seriously pissed me off - that alone would have stopped a purchase from me as a consumer.

I can only guess that the people that buy from these services just don't know better.

Thats why im sticking to Steam, re-downloads at anytime. But another point I want to bring up is... should people not backup they downloaded games?

Can downloaded games be backed up and still work without using cracks? I don't think so otherwise they'd be even easier to pirate.

Steam games can easily be backed up (I mean VERY easy) to CD/DVDs. That option is great for Steam users that have a very low download limit from their ISPs - so this way you can install your Steam games without having to download it all again.
