Can downloaded games be backed up and still work without using cracks? I don't think so otherwise they'd be even easier to pirate.

 

Steam games can easily be backed up (I mean VERY easy) to CD/DVDs. That option is great for Steam users that have a very low download limit from their ISPs - so this way you can install your Steam games without having to download it all again.
