Run for the hills! EA's at it again?

Its not just EA. I have been looking a lot of digital dist solutions/stores, and a lot of them do something (stupid) like this.

I can't remember who the provider was, but as a test - I wanted to buy some stupid "Rock Garden" game (a terrible game BTW). It was going to cost me $35AU - PLUS a 10% (around $4) non-optional fee for some "download security", that allowed me to download it again if I needed to.

The fact that it was non-optional seriously pissed me off - that alone would have stopped a purchase from me as a consumer.

I can only guess that the people that buy from these services just don't know better.
