Forums - Sales - Trading In games Is a Rip Off IMO

I mean you have a game 4 or 5 weeks which you paid maybe 60 Euro for.

You bring it in and the guy gives you like 25 to 30 euro store credit.

then the game goes up on the shelf for 10 Euro below the new version of same game.

I have made a decision never to trade in again anyone feel the same way?

I've never thought it seemed like a good deal for the consumer to trade in. Neither does buying a used copy that's only marginally cheaper than a new one. I'd rather support the publishers and developers by buying new, and I have zero desire to feed the abomination that is Gamestop.

I only buy games I am going to keep, making sure they are decent before I buy them. Seems to have worked so far. I would never trade .... GAME offered me £2.50 for Blinx ....

I have never traded in or bought used (from Gamestop). Sure, you may be 'saving' US$5-10 by buying used from them, but then the creators of the game get no money, only Gamestop/EB/wherever.

I will buy used games direct from other gamers, and sell/trade mine to them in return, but as soon as the middleman gets involved I will not do it.

Please, PLEASE do NOT feed the trolls.

I would second that alright.

I agree with you on supporting publishers just sometimes you dont have the spare money for new games.

Well in my case anyway.

Yeah gamestop are a rip off

I've never traded a single game and only have bought three games used (if i recall). I have once returned a game for it sucking so hard (F1 Pole Position on N64).

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

If you're going through EB Games/Gamestop/whatever, a good rule of thumb is to figure out what you think you should receive for trading in a particular game, and then half it. Then half it again.
