Are they still supply constrained?
Just asking cause I haven't heard as much buzz about it as other years this christmass period... then again I haven't been listening much.

I'm guessing they are. Actually, I know Wii Fit is and the Wii is assuming you're not there the day a shipment rolls in.
Wii Fit is still very tough to find.
I don't know about the Wii. I haven't been paying much attention to that. I think it is easier than in past years.

From what I understand, instead of being sold out in minutes or hours it gets sold out in hours to a full day. Either way, I still haven't seen one in stores for a really long time.
And for a fun little story: I was in Gamestop yesterday and I heard the manager tell someone on the phone that they sell out in seconds. That would be interesting except a few minutes later I heard him tell someone that a BluRay player for the 360 was going to be released late 2009 so he's not someone I put a lot of stock in.
my toysrus had a whole stack of wii fits on christmas eve. it was still there on boxing day, so i decided to buy it. depends on where you are, i guess. or maybe i was just lucky.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

aye, well thanks guys for the answer. I guess we'll get pretty much a redo of 2008 this new year then... I had thought that maybe holiday supplies would have crushed the demand as usually, 3rd time's the charm...but not there =P
and BR for 360 would not sell too well now I guess, with standalone prices dropping and all, the benefit might not outweight the bad eye sony would give the manufacturer :p

With how many were sold it couldn't be that difficult to find a Wii or Wii Fit but that doesn't mean you would find them on the shelf of most stores ...

well, one of those two things he actually witnesses, but agreed he is probably exagerating quite a bit.
@topic,
In about a 50 mile radius it is impossible to find a Wii/Wii Fit unless you get to a store within a few hours (up to 1 day) of when the shipments roll in. Granted, the shipments did come in often during this holiday season, so it was just a matter of figuring out which store got a shipment that day. Back in early November EBGames/Gamestop was the only place that had them consistently.

the Wii and WiiFit are both sold out for the most part. The difference is last year there was less supply and it was so supply contrained people were lining up to wait for them so they were gone by the time the shipment rolls in. This year for example the TRU near me got 100+ wiis on the 23rd, and they were still a few (very few) left at about noon on the 24th. Last year they would have gotten 50, and been gone in less than an hour.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
