In my opinion, you need something that caters more to a specific taste, as opposed to an all around experience. In my opinion. Halo is like a Ham sandwich, with bread, and ham, devoid of all condiments. Mind you! This ham and bread are of pretty good quality, it just doesn't have any extra flavor. By it'self, the bread and ham are pretty much all you really need to form a sandwhich, but in order to make it truely GREAT, you need that specific flavor which only you can really decide. Halo is the barebone game which puts everything it needs to be "good", however Halo to me can and will never be "Great". By adding pickles to the sandwich, you now alienate everyone who does not like pickles, however, those who do like pickles are quite a bit happier with the sandwich. There are MANY people who played halo as they're first FPS game. They're not as experienced and well versed as many of the PC enthusiests, and thus you'll find tons of PC gamers that are just "meh" about halo. Ending short because my boss is like eyeing me strangely >_>

Ok I understand your point.. but we are talking about videogames ... not a piece of art
I'm also a pc FPS user but this has nothing to do here.
I'm also more into the style of Killzone 2 than Halo (...) but the fact remains: Halo 3 is the most successful (most played / most sold) fps of this console generation.
Arguing about quality is a question of personal opinion ...
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
