Having said all that £30-£40 per year for Xbox live is nothing to pay, some people pay that every month on a Sky TV or mobile phone package.

DAM I missed that trick.  I bought 13 months off Ebay for £27 which is pretty good value.

So yes I have a Gold account.

After my free trial ran out I realised it was essential for playing online, previously I had only played PC games online but the 360 provided a much easier and quicker way of connecting to and playing with friends.

Downloading and using live services is generally excellent, however game servers can be hit and miss.  Battlefield: Bad Comapny regulary has huge problems and more recently I have not been able to connect to any Gears Of War 2 games .

I would like to see more content available.

My only gripe is that they give you 1 month free instead of 3 months. Would have liked to space out the purchases a little more between the console and the service.

Nah dont have it, except when I get codes with games etc. I dont feel I should pay for peer to peer gaming especially when I only occasionally use it.

Charging for peer to peer gaming is the best con M$ have pulled since getting away with RROD fiasco.

I have it, it beats the hell out of paying for an MMO. I save like 10 bucks, so of course I have no problem paying for it. Plus way more of my friends have live then lets say WoW.

I purchase a month of XBox Gold as and when I want to play online and know in advance that I'm going to have time.

This tends to limit me to holidays but its an ideal system.
Superb online thats suits my time availability at a very reasonable cost.

Jump in and Jump out. Thats what I do.

I have xbox live. I dont mind paying for a service. I use it to play BF2 online and other multiplayer games.

I have it.

It is a fun online social experience. Playing and meting people around the world or just hanging out with my friends. Not to mention all that content to download from the marketplace just makes your games replay value so much higher.

live silver is all ive ever had, ive tried the trail cards loads of times, but theres no difference really with psn. all i want to do is log on and play games
