Forums - Sales - "The PS3 can't sell software" WKC

You know people talk about ps3 having no games when it came out. However, when the 360 was first released, what was their launch game? Oh yeah, right, they didn't have an hot exclusive during the launch. 360 started getting hot games when halo 3 and gears came out. Before that, they had nothing.

I think its more important how much money a game makes, and that is what the measuring stick should be. This is profit, not revenue. So, both 360 and PS3 RPGs in japan failed.

My point is ps3 can sell software. They did a hell of a great job selling MGS4. The PS3 knows how to sell software. Trust me. They will fdind out when Grand Turismo 5 and Killzone 2 is released.

The..."PS3 IS DOOMED" threads are just as aggravating...Regardless, WKC didn't prove anything to me that I didn't already know...that PS3 CAN sell JRPGs...period.

I agree, just as aggravating as the countless "360 is doomed" threads people were making a few months ago.

Uuuh, ok...so...what, will WKC all of a sudden stop selling next week? I'm not following your logic, especially considering this is not yet a WW release...what are you implying?

He's saying that these games have giant first week sales and then burns very fast >_>

This is what happened with Rogue Galaxy...Note Japans Numbers

Week 1 226,894
Week 2 51,791
Week 3 30,604
Week 4 16,158
Week 5 11,211
Week 6 5,060
Week 7 3,545
Week 8 2,925
Week 9 2,306
Week 10 1,788

No.

Which ones made profits in japan? I don't know of any this gen. And, you don't think this is what the companies are aiming for? They don't make these games for giggles. They make them to make money.

then let's just say JRPG selling on the 360 sucks in both in Japan and America.

we all agree?

because SO4 might truly be the last hope for jrpg on the 360... in terms of SE games and other companies that want to go SE-ish

Well, Last Remnant is at 400k already, and IU is at 410k. I'd say that they did pretty well. Hell, LR is still selling pretty well, and should be significantly higher when its sales fizzle.

The problem is that production values are too high for the sales most JRPGs will have. Thats why they are going multiplatform, and prolly later they will go wii.

My point to the thread is not to gloat about WKC sales. Im mot calling it a success or a failure just ok sales. My point is that the argument that has been used against the WKC sales about Userbase is that it should be taken into account when people talk about America sales aswell.
